Patent number: 9132805Abstract: An unattended-vehicle engine-idling system controls a vehicle powertrain in a non-motive mode with the engine running. An ignition switch operables with a removable ignition key. A control circuit has multiple states including a PREARMED state which is entered when the powertrain is in the motive mode and the user generates a manual activation signal. An ARMED state is entered when the transmission is in Park and holds an ignition switch status signal at RUN. An ACTIVE state is entered when the ignition switch is moved to the Accessory or Off positions or the key is removed. The powertrain is switched to non-motive mode and the switch status signal stays at RUN. A DISARMED state is entered in response to a manual deactivation signal generated independently of the ignition switch. In the DISARMED state, the ignition switch status signal corresponds with the ignition switch position, thereby turning off the engine.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2014Date of Patent: September 15, 2015Assignee: FORD GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES, LLCInventors: Daniel M. King, Thomas L. Miller, Kevin T. Hille, Scott A. Watkins, James E. Kaminske

Patent number: 8518262Abstract: A method of integrating individual water treatment assemblies into a seamless water treatment control system. A Reverse Osmosis assembly contains a controller wherein all other pretreatment and post-treatment assemblies are electrical coupled thereto. The controller is preprogrammed for use in recognizing the coupling of the pretreatment and/or post treatment assemblies wherein and for receiving all control commands for operation thereof. The controller employs cells that allows and installer to interconnect assemblies by coupling low voltage control signal wiring having predefined inputs, set up as PnP, or by use of a personal wireless network.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2007Date of Patent: August 27, 2013Assignee: Nalco CompanyInventors: Scott Watkins, Raymond Perdue

Patent number: 8277588Abstract: Dissolving paper (22) covers pressure sensitive adhesive (20) on a mounting face (18) of an object (16) to be mounted on an exterior surface of a body panel (10) of a motor vehicle by a mechanical fastening system (24). The mounting is exposed to a water wash. Water begins to be absorbed by the dissolving paper through the edge of the paper's outer perimeter. As the paper increasingly absorbs water, it dissolves in the water exposing the adhesive which then adheres to the panel.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2009Date of Patent: October 2, 2012Assignee: International Truck Intellectual Property Company, LLCInventors: Gayle Goodrich, Scott Watkins
