A user can provide a specification of an activity state in a variety of ways, e.g., providing a reminder command while the application is executing in the foreground with the desired activity state or by voice commands that specify the activity state. A user can provide one or more trigger criteria. Once the reminder is triggered, the specified activity state can be provided to the user.

The transition corresponds to the mobile device establishing a wireless connection to a processor of the vehicle or the mobile device disconnecting from the vehicle processor. Content for the reminder is received. In response to detecting the transition between the mobile device and the processor of the vehicle, the content of the reminder is provided to the user.

Prior to the start of the event, the method requests travel updates to the location of event from a navigation application. The request includes the handle and the start time of the event. The method receives periodic routing updates to the location of the event from the navigation application.
