  • Publication number: 20190149340
Abstract: The authenticity of a compressed archive is verified without decompressing the files and/or directories contained therein and without impeding existing archive reader tools and utilities. A container is produced that includes a signature component and a compressed archive component. The signature component contains a digital signature of the compressed archive and the compressed archive component contains the compressed archive. The signature component and the compressed archive component are constructed as independent components so that existing software tools that operate on a compressed archive can still function in their normal course of operation.

  • Publication number: 20180255069
Abstract: Techniques are described herein that are capable of providing security for code between a code generator and a compiler. The code generator generates source code. The code generator generates a first checksum of a file that includes the source code. The code generator provides the first checksum to the compiler via a secure channel. The compiler generates a second checksum of the file that includes the source code. The compiler determines whether to compile the source code based at least in part on whether the first checksum and the second checksum are the same. The first checksum and the second checksum being the same indicates that the source code is to be compiled. The first checksum and the second checksum being different indicates that the source code is not to be compiled.

  • Patent number: 9285540
Abstract: A method for realizing a semiconductor waveguide and an ultra-low-loss dielectric waveguide disposed on the same substrate is disclosed. The method includes forming a partial dielectric waveguide structure on the substrate, wherein the dielectric waveguide is annealed to reduce hydrogen incorporation, and wherein the top cladding of the dielectric waveguide is only partially formed by a first dielectric layer. A second substrate comprising a semiconductor layer having a second dielectric layer disposed on its top surface is bonded to the first substrate such that the first and second dielectric layers collectively form the complete top cladding for the dielectric waveguide. The second substrate is then removed and the semiconductor layer is patterned to define the semiconductor waveguide core.

  • Patent number: 9088414
Abstract: A determination is made as to whether a user has been logged off from the web-based application accessed through a web browser on a computer. If it is determined that the user has been logged off from the web-based application, then a new user interface is provided through the web browser. The new user interface may enable the user to enter user credentials. The user credentials are received through the new user interface. A request to validate the user based on the user credentials is transmitted. Upon transmitting the request to validate the user, an instruction to remove the new user interface is received when the user is validated. Upon receiving the instruction, a display of the web-based application is transformed by removing the new user interface.

  • Publication number: 20110107383
Abstract: A system displays web feed content on television. A web feed content aggregation system retrieves syndicated web feed content on a web subscription basis, wherein the web feed content aggregation system includes a library that is organized in a web genre tree format including a root node branching to at least one website node, and cataloged by website classes, feed categories and topics. A television content broadcast system broadcasts television content on a television subscription basis. The web feed content aggregation system and the television content broadcast system are interfaced as a function of an account association between a web feed content aggregation subscription account and a television content broadcast subscription account. The system makes additional content available to the user based on content they are watching, have saved for later viewing, have scheduled for future recording, or have searched for.

  • Publication number: 20080118782
Abstract: A fuel cell is provided with an anode and a cathode. The anode is in electrical communication with an anode enzyme and the cathode is in electrical communication with a cathode enzyme. The anode enzyme is preferably an oxidase or a dehydrogenase. The cathode enzyme is a copper-containing enzyme, such as a lacasse, an ascorbate oxidase, a ceruloplasmine, or a bilirubin oxidase. Preferably, the cathode enzyme is operable under physiological conditions. Redox polymers serve to wire the anode enzyme to the anode and the cathode enzyme to the cathode. The fuel cell can be very small in size because it does not require a membrane, seal, or case. The fuel cell can be used in connection with a biological system, such as a human, as it may operate at physiological conditions. By virtue of its size and operability at physiological conditions, the fuel cell is of particular interest for applications calling for a power source implanted in a human body, such as a variety of medical applications.

  • Publication number: 20060079876
Abstract: An ultrasonic clamp coagulator assembly that is configured to permit selective cutting, coagulation and clamping of tissue during surgical procedures. An elongated portion of the instrument can be configured for endoscopic applications and has an outside diameter of less than 6 mm. The construction includes a clamping mechanism, including a clamp arm pivotally mounted at the distal portion of the instrument, which is specifically configured to create a desired level of tissue clamping forces, exceeding 4 pounds when the trigger is fully closed. The clamping mechanism includes a two-piece pad design and pad material that enables the higher tissue clamping forces and a force-limiting mechanism that effectively smooths out abusive tissue forces. The assembly also features hand activation configured to provide an ergonomical grip and operation for the surgeon. Hand switches are placed in the range of the natural swing of the surgeon's thumb, whether gripping the surgical instrument right-handed or left handed.
