Patent number: 12276009Abstract: A thermally stable component formed of a tempered aluminum alloy casting which reduced costs is provided. The aluminum alloy typically has an elongation of at least 8% after casting, which is preferred for self-piercing rivet processes. The aluminum alloy leaves a casting facility in the as-cast (F temper) condition. The cast aluminum alloy is then shipped to another entity, such as an OEM, and is subjected to an artificial aging process, such as on the OEM's existing paint line, rather than at the casting facility. The artificial aging process typically includes electrodeposition coating and curing. The components that can be formed by the reduced cost method include lightweight automotive vehicle components, including structural, body-in-white, suspension, or chassis components, such as front shock towers, front body hinge pillars, tunnels, and rear rails.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 2022Date of Patent: April 15, 2025Assignee: MAGNA INTERNATIONAL INC.Inventor: Randolf Scott Beals

Patent number: 12230142Abstract: An aircraft analysis application retrieves transponder data that is output by a transponder mounted on an aircraft. The transponder data is indicative of locations of the aircraft over a period of time. The aircraft analysis application maps the locations of the aircraft indicated by the transponder to a jurisdictional map identifying boundaries of a plurality of jurisdictions. The aircraft analysis application computes a fractional portion of time spent by the aircraft in a first jurisdiction in the plurality of jurisdictions based upon the locations of the aircraft indicated by the transponder and the jurisdictional map. The aircraft analysis application generates a jurisdictional status report that comprises a graphical indication of the fractional portion of time spent by the aircraft in the first jurisdiction.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2023Date of Patent: February 18, 2025Assignee: AVIATION CAPITAL PARTNERS, LLCInventors: Neil Butara, Scott Beale, Lance Warren

Publication number: 20230281726Abstract: A taxability status system determines a taxability status for aircraft according to selected jurisdictions including a state or a county. The system receives traffic control system information, transponder data and assessor data to provide a taxability status report and updated reports in order to assess and verify where taxes have or have not been paid. The system further determines gap related information that can be identified within the traffic control system information as a result of mismatching departure and arrival data at airport jurisdictions.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 1, 2022Publication date: September 7, 2023Inventor: Scott Beale

Patent number: 11299363Abstract: Example implementations relate to print media stacks. In some examples, a device may include a sheet channel to guide a sheet of print media within the sheet channel above and separated in a vertical direction from a stack of printed media when the sheet of print media exits a print path of a printer. The device may include a plurality of clamps to control alignment of the sheet of print media on the stack of printed media when the sheet channel moves outboard from the sheet of print media to allow the sheet of print media to fall onto the stack of printed media, wherein the plurality of clamps sequentially pin the sheet of print media to the stack of printed media from a middle portion of the sheet of print media outward.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2017Date of Patent: April 12, 2022Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Robert Scott Beale, Elliott Downing, Robert Yraceburu, Bruce Johnson, Cristopher Royce Jansson, Stuart Scofield, Francisco Javier Gomez, Jonathon Cha Spafford, Catherine Elizabeth Gould, Tom McCue, Matthew Douglas Reier
