  • Patent number: 11808570
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a self-contained ocean data and acquisition module (SCODAM) configured to mount to a floating body and having a sensor array, geospatial locating engine, wave measurement engine, communication engine to transmit collected data to a remote device, an energy conversion module adapted to convert ambient energy inputs into electrical energy, and an energy storage module configured to receive the converted electrical energy and to supply operating power to the SCODAM. In an illustrative example, the SCODAM may be configured to generate a transfer function based on motion characterization data obtained in a training mode corresponding to motion of the floating body in response to perturbation in a predetermined sequence and to apply the transfer function data obtained by the wave measurement engine to determine wave motion. Various embodiments may advantageously facilitate use of an existing floating body as an ocean data acquisition system (ODAS).

  • Patent number: 11062928
Abstract: Using measurements from a metrology tool, combinations of tool settings on the metrology tool can be determined. Candidates can then be determined and a response surface model can be generated for each of the candidates. A list of the candidates of the tool settings that provide a maximum response and that are least sensitive to sources of noise can then be determined from the response surface models. The list of the candidates can each be from a denser region of the response surface model.

  • Publication number: 20120325342
Abstract: A water filtration system is provided that includes a filter section, a tank section, a pump section, a housing section and a dispensing section. The filter section includes a high-pressure water filter disconnected from a source of tap water. The tank section includes an outer tank member and an inner tank member fluidly connected to the filter section. The pump section is fluidly connected to the filter section via a first conduit for pumping water at a high pressure through the filter and is fluidly connected to the outer tank member via a second conduit for drawing unfiltered water from the outer tank member. The housing section houses at least one of the filter section, the tank section and the pump section. The dispensing section is fluidly connected to the inner tank member for dispensing filtered water.

  • Patent number: 7520257
Abstract: A cylinder head of an engine is disclosed, the cylinder head including an upper deck, a lower deck, and a sidewall extending between the upper deck and the lower deck. The lower deck defines a block-engaging portion and a combustion chamber flame deck. The combustion chamber flame deck is spaced apart from the block-engaging portion. An engine is also disclosed that includes a cylinder block having a cylinder bore, and a piston slidably positioned within the cylinder bore. The engine also includes a cylinder head having a lower deck connected to the cylinder block, the lower deck defining a block-engaging portion and a combustion chamber flame deck. The combustion chamber flame deck is spaced apart from the block-engaging portion by a recess.

  • Patent number: 6658773
Abstract: A fluorescent label for a computer keyboard key. The label is adhesive backed, having two layers of plastic vinyl such as Mylar and is rectangular and corresponds with the size of the key face and the character or message on the key. A kit is a sheet, having a set of labels for the various sizes of keys of a computer keyboard and the character or message thereon removable from the. The first layer of plastic vinyl has adhesive for attachment to a key face having a peel off paper backing and having a printed luminescent paint or ink on its upper side. An indicia is printed on the background corresponding to the key. A second layer of transparent plastic vinyl covers the luminescent layer.

  • Patent number: 6257005
Abstract: A pressure status meter acts as an early warning/control device for an air conditioning system used in an automotive, industrial, or heavy equipment environment. The status meter measures the pressure at the condenser side of the air conditioning system and converts the measured pressure into a digital signal. If the signal crosses a predetermined threshold, the meter indicates a “caution” condition or a “shutdown” condition, depending on the severity of the high pressure condition. The device may also include a shutdown circuit that shuts down the air conditioning system if a shutdown condition is detected, preventing high pressure damage and potential freon leaks.
