  • Publication number: 20250333422
Abstract: A process for isolating amorphous berberine with enhanced bioavailability which includes grinding crystalline berberine into amorphous berberine particles having an average size between 100 nm and 200 nm. The grinding step may be accomplished using a horizontal wet bead mill. Alternatively, the crystalline berberine may be ground into amorphous berberine particles having an average size between 125 nm and 175 nm or between 100 nm and 150 nm. The process may further include a step of confirming that all crystalline berberine was converted to amorphous berberine through x-ray diffraction.

  • Patent number: 8607607
Abstract: A system and a method for feeding wire material to a rotary compaction press are provided. In some embodiments the method includes the steps of feeding a wire strand of material to a location adjacent a cutting surface; moving the cutting surface, thereby causing the cutting surface to cut the wire strand of material into a wire pellet of material; and transporting the wire pellet of material to adjacent a die table of a rotary compaction press. In some embodiments the system includes a wire exit aperture. A cutting disc may be provided adjacent the wire exit aperture and may have a plurality of wire cutting surfaces and adjacent wire notches. The cutting disc may be rotatable, thereby causing the wire cutting surfaces to sequentially pass over the wire exit aperture.

  • Patent number: 7607453
Abstract: A freezeless hydrant having an inlet and outlet, the hydrant including an elongated pipe connecting a valve to an operator. A stem has a length and has a first end engaged with operator threads and a second end carrying a stopper portion of the valve. A portion of the stem engages projections on an inner portion of the pipe such that the valve operator stem is held against rotational movement. The stopper portion includes a first and second seal face such that rotational movement of the operator results in longitudinal movement of the stem and in closing of the valve by moving the stopper portion and the first seal face into compressive sealing engagement with a face of a reduced diameter portion of the pipe and the second seal into movable frictional engagement with an inner diameter of the reduced diameter portion. The hydrant can be mounted in a hydrant box on the exterior of a structure.

  • Patent number: 7478645
Abstract: A freezeless hot and cold outdoor hydrant having a hot water inlet and a cold water inlet and a single water outlet elbow. The hydrant has a hydrant body including a mix cavity chamber. The single water outlet is swivel mounted to an end of said hydrant body such the hydrant can be mounted in a vertical orientation with the hot and cold water inlets above the outlet or the hydrant can be mounted in a horizontal orientation with the outlet swiveled approximately 90 degrees and with the hot and cold water inlets horizontally oriented beside the outlet. Two horizontal orientations are possible, depending upon the swivel angle of the outlet elbow. One horizontal orientation has the hot water operator on the left side of the hydrant and the other horizontal orientation has the hot water operator on the right side of the hydrant.
