Publication number: 20250291334Abstract: Techniques for uploading image data are provided. In one technique, based on first input received through a requester computer that includes an image viewer, image data is received from the requester computer. In a database, a record that indicates a print order that is based on the request and that includes the image data is generated. A request for data about 3D printing the image data is transmitted to an entity associated with the requester computer. Second input that includes instructions for segmenting the image data is received from the entity through a web portal. In another technique, a virtual 3D model and a control for approving the virtual 3D model are presented in a user interface of an image viewer. In response to receiving an indication that a user selected the control, 3D files corresponding to the 3D model are transmitted to a manufacturing facility that produces 3D models.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 18, 2024Publication date: September 18, 2025Applicant: Ricoh Company, Ltd.Inventors: Steven A. Nelson, Giovanni Bisaccia, Scott Brewer, Robert Wesley

Publication number: 20250291326Abstract: Techniques for managing the lifecycle of processing 3D print orders are provided. In one technique, image data and a request to print a 3D model are received, from a requester computer, over a computer network, through a web portal. Segmentation instructions about segmenting the image data are also received. A record that indicates a print order that is based on the request and the segmentation instructions and that includes the image data is generated in a database. Later, the database is searched for the record based on first input from a segmenting computer that is different than the requester computer. Segmented image data that has been segmented based on the segmentation instructions are received from the segmenting computer.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 18, 2024Publication date: September 18, 2025Applicant: Ricoh Company, Ltd.Inventors: Steven A. Patent number: 11429578Abstract: A method includes generating a table in a relational database, the table comprising an empty column reserved for a custom tag. The column has a default column name. The method also includes, in response to an instruction to create the custom tag, generating a column mapping that maps a name of the custom tag to the column name. The column mapping is stored outside the relational database and is used by a parser to translate between the name of the custom tag and the column name.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2020Date of Patent: August 30, 2022Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Raul E. Saba, Scott Brewer, Gregory T. Kishi, Sara Megan Coronado, Drew Olson, Joseph W. Dain, Theodore Timothy Harris, Jr.

Patent number: 11269837Abstract: Systems and methods for storing nodes, preferably, leaf nodes, of a data tree structure into storage are disclosed, and in one or more aspects restoring the leaf nodes from storage, preferably to memory. Copying the nodes into storage includes in an embodiment share-latching a first node of a data tree to be copied; copying the first node that is share-latched into storage; determining if there is a sibling second node linked to the first node; following a link between the first copied node and the sibling second node, share-latching the sibling second node, unlatching the first copied node, and copying the sibling second node into storage. Restoring includes copying the leaf nodes from storage, updating the leaf nodes, and creating/recreating the data tree.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2020Date of Patent: March 8, 2022Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Brian Hatfield, Scott Brewer
