  • Publication number: 20220163438
Abstract: Modular flow cytometry systems and methods for processing samples are described herein. The systems include automated or semi-automated modules that are replaceable and removable. A sample pathway module may be removed and placed in a microfluidic device cleaning module for cleaning, and then reinstalled or stored for later use. The systems further include optical modules, electronics modules, and mixing and collection modules. The optical module includes a photo-damaging assembly and detection laser assembly that may be on the same side relative to a plane or surface of a flow cytometry device and opposite of a detection assembly. The laser beam may have a beam waist that is wider in a direction perpendicular to a flow direction than in the flow direction. The mixing and collection module can automatically mix a sample being collected in a sample tube and switch to another sample tube when the other tube is full.

  • Patent number: 9991827
Abstract: A method includes: outputting high side driver gate signals to a plurality of high side driver devices and outputting low side driver gate signals to a plurality of low side driver devices configured to control current supplied to a motor having coils coupled to receive the current at a plurality of phase nodes; at a time approximately prior to an expected zero crossing of a voltage at a selected one of the plurality of phase nodes, disabling the high side driver gate signal and the low side driver gate signal; measuring a back electromotive force (BEMF) voltage and observing a zero crossing time; estimating a next zero crossing time; prior to the next zero crossing time, disabling the high side driver gate signal and the low side driver gate signal and observing the selected one of the phase nodes to form a first sample; and following the next zero crossing time, observing a second voltage at the selected one of the phase nodes to form a second sample.

  • Publication number: 20070144425
Abstract: A support apparatus includes a rectilinear central pole having axially opposed end portions. The pole includes a plurality of oppositely spaced female portions and a male portion slid ably engageable therewith. Each female portion has a plurality of apertures equidistantly spaced along a longitudinal length thereof. The male portion is medially nested between the female portions wherein the female portions are telescopically movable. The apparatus further includes first and second pairs of telescopically adjustable and rectilinear leg members connected to the opposed end portions of the pole and extending away therefrom, respectively. The apparatus also includes a mechanism for independently pivoting each of the first and second leg members about a fulcrum axis centrally registered with the pole and extending parallel thereto. The apparatus also includes a mechanism for independently pivoting the first and second members along a unique arcuate path and about a fulcrum axis.

  • Patent number: 6024344
Abstract: A method for recording seismic data in deep water. A plurality of seismic data recorders are attached to a wire stored on a seismic vessel. A free end of the wire is deployed into the water, and the recorders are attached at selected positions along the wire. The wire and recorders are lowered into the water as the vessel moves to control the recorder deployment. The wire controls recorder location and establishes the recorder spacing interval. After the recorders are operated to record seismic data, the wire and attached recorders can be retrieved to the water surface. The recorders can be detached from the wire to facilitate storage and data retrieval from each recorder.
