  • Publication number: 20210106464
Abstract: A variable compression cushion for eyewear includes a lattice structure made up of lattice cells defined by lattice elements. The parameters of the lattice structure may be configured to create a desired compressibility in the cushion. Different zones of the cushion may have different compressibility. The variable compressibility enables the cushion to be configured to optimize the face pressure experienced by a user when the eyewear is worn to enhance the comfort of the user. Some embodiments of the cushion also include structures to improve ventilation through the cushion. Some embodiments of the cushion also include structures that channel moisture away from the portion of the cushion that contacts the face of the user to improve user comfort.

  • Publication number: 20210025197
Abstract: A lock kit for a fenestration assembly includes a panel stop. The fenestration assembly includes a first panel and a second panel, at least one of the first and second panels being slideable relative the other of the first and second panels. The panel stop is configured to pivotably mount within a recess of a frame member of the first panel and pivot between a first stop position configured to maintain the first and second panels in a fully closed position, a second stop position configured to limit sliding of the first and second panels beyond a preset partially-open position, and a third position substantially within the recess, the third position being configured to not restrict a range of motion of the first and second panels.

  • Patent number: 10653200
Abstract: A protective device and method of use includes a collar portion for positioning behind the neck of a wear and a right leg and a left leg connected to the collar portion that extend over the chest of a wearer. The collar portion and legs may be constructed of a single piece. An upwardly extending portion extends upwardly behind the head of a wearer and is movably affixed to the collar portion. A shock absorber has a first end attached to the collar portion and a second end attached to the upwardly extending portion to resist forward motion of the upwardly extending portion. A connector, such as a strap, communicates the upwardly extending portion to a helmet. Therefore, deceleration of the upwardly extending portion and a connected helmet is affected by the shock absorber, thereby mitigating the effects of a sudden deceleration as is often experienced during an auto accident.

  • Publication number: 20160031636
Abstract: A method of forming an element to have a preselected element density, for floating at least partially on a surface of an at least partially liquid hydrocarbon mixture having a known liquid density. The method includes determining the preselected element density based on the known liquid density. A mold cavity is provided that is formed to define an exterior surface of the element with an exterior surface area formed to provide the element having the preselected element density. A polymer resin and a foaming agent are mixed together in preselected proportions to provide a material mixture, which is heated to at least partially liquefy the material mixture. The at least partially liquefied material mixture is injected into the mold cavity over three respective predetermined time periods at three respective velocities, under three respective pressures.

The method includes mixing a polymer resin and a foaming agent together in preselected proportions to provide a material mixture, and heating the material mixture, to at least partially liquefy it. The material mixture is injected into a mold cavity configured to define the element's exterior surface in a series of at least three steps, commencing with an initial step. In each step, the material mixture is injected over a predetermined time period at a predetermined velocity and under a predetermined pressure. Each predetermined velocity in the steps following the initial step is less than the predetermined velocity in an immediately preceding step thereof. Each predetermined pressure in the steps following the initial step is less than the predetermined pressure in the immediately preceding step thereof.

  • Patent number: 8112584
Abstract: Disclosed are, inter alia, methods, apparatus, data structures, computer-readable media, mechanisms, and means for a storage controller (e.g., memory controller, disk controller, etc.) performing a set of multiple operations on cached data with a no-miss guarantee until the multiple operations are complete, which may, for example, be used by a packet processor to quickly update multiple statistics values (e.g., byte, packet, error counts, etc.) based on processed packets. Operations to be performed on data at the same address and/or in a common data structure are grouped together and burst so that they arrive at the storage system in contiguous succession for the storage controller to perform. By not allowing the storage controller to flush the data from its cache until all of the operations are performed, even a tiny cache attached to the storage controller can reduce the bandwidth and latency of updating the data.

  • Patent number: 7856512
Abstract: The invention comprises system and method for offloading a processor tasked with calendar processing of channel status information. The method comprises multiplexing channel status information received from a plurality of physical interfaces; grouping the channels based on bandwidth; comparing current and previous status information of a group of channels in a first memory; sending current channel status to the processor only if the status of any of the channels in the group has changed; and periodically synchronizing channel status information in the first memory to status information in the processor's memory. The system comprises: multiplexer to combine channel status information received from the interfaces and means for grouping, based on bandwidth, the channels; hardware assist engine to send current channel status to the processor only if channel status has changed; and device to synchronize channel status information in the hardware assist engine to status information in the processor's memory.
