  • Patent number: 6023066
Abstract: An ultraviolet (UV) radiometer includes as one component a data collection unit which is sufficiently small that it can be placed in UV curing applications which have normally been inaccessible as another component a data reader into which the data collection unit is inserted for displaying and/or processing the actual data collected by the data collection unit during a process run. Because of its small size, the data collection unit makes it possible to obtain true process control in applications that could not previously be monitored. After making a dosage measurement, the data collection unit is inserted into the data reader to display the actual data collected during a UV curing run. After reading the data in the data collection unit, the data reader clears the previously stored data and resets the unit to take a new dosage reading.

  • Patent number: 5845693
Abstract: A vertical blind system to selectively block and expose an area from a front vantage point. The vertical blind system includes first and second slats, each having a body with a top and bottom and a width between spaced substantially straight edges which extend between the top and bottom of each slat. A support/guide system maintains the first and second slats in an operative state and allows the first and second slats to be selectively repositioned between a) a first/open position wherein a space is defined between the first and second slats as viewed from the front vantage point and b) a second/closed position wherein the straight edge on the first slat horizontally overlaps the second slat a first predetermined amount as viewed from the front vantage point.

  • Patent number: 5558429
Abstract: A portable light is provided which is operated and turned on automatically when the light is moved to a vertical or near vertical position and turns off automatically when in a non-vertical position. A highly reliable, sealed a reed switch is operated when an associated magnet moves into proximity. A locking mechanism retains the magnet to prevent operation of the light when not in use. A manually operated, mechanical switch is also provided and uses a metal strip to over ride the magnet/reed switch to allow for selective operation of the light in any position. The light can be used as a flashlight or attached to a cooler lid, car hood, visor attache case and the like to turn on automatically as the attached, hinged device is moved to a vertical or near vertical position.
