  • Patent number: 10003171
Abstract: A sealable laser diode heat sink module for a laser diode includes an anode assembly and a cathode assembly having a cathode base and a cathode connector plate. The anode assembly includes an anode base configured to house the laser diode and the cathode base within a sealable cavity recessed into the anode base. The anode base has a cathode base opening configured to receive the cathode connector plate. An anode connector plate extends from the anode base. An anode current path passes through the laser diode and the anode connector plate via direct connections through the anode base. A cathode current path passes through the cathode connector plate passes via direct connections through the cathode base. The anode base is configured to dissipate heat from the laser diode.

  • Patent number: 9983506
Abstract: A replaceable unit for an electrophotographic image forming device according to one example embodiment includes a housing having a reservoir for storing toner. A rotatable shaft is positioned within the reservoir and has an axis of rotation. A first magnet and a second magnet are connected to the shaft and rotatable around the axis of rotation in response to rotation of the shaft. The first magnet and the second magnet are detectable by a magnetic sensor when the replaceable unit is installed in the image forming device. A polarity of the first magnet is oriented opposite a polarity of the second magnet relative to the shaft. An amount of angular offset between the first magnet and the second magnet varies depending on an amount of toner in the reservoir.

  • Publication number: 20180136584
Abstract: An electrophotographic image forming device includes a replaceable unit having a housing that includes a top, a bottom, a front, and a rear positioned between a first side and a second side of the housing. The housing has a reservoir for storing toner. A rotatable shaft is positioned within the reservoir and has an axis of rotation. A magnet in the reservoir is movable in response to rotation of the shaft. An engagement member is positioned on an exterior of the top of the housing. The engagement member is aligned with a point in a path of movement of the magnet in the reservoir. The engagement member has a front surface that is unobstructed to contact and push a housing in the image forming device supporting a magnetic sensor to an operating position of the magnetic sensor during insertion of the replaceable unit into the image forming device.

  • Patent number: 9971295
Abstract: An electrophotographic image forming device according to one example includes a toner cartridge having a housing that includes a toner reservoir. An electrical connector on the housing is movable between a retracted position and an operative position. The electrical connector includes an electrical contact for contacting a corresponding electrical contact in the image forming device. The electrical contact is electrically connected to processing circuitry on the housing. The electrical connector and the electrical contact of the toner cartridge move upward toward the top of the housing when the electrical connector moves from the retracted position to the operative position. The electrical contact of the toner cartridge is positioned within a pocket of the electrical connector. The pocket includes an opening that faces upward when the electrical connector is in the operative position permitting the corresponding electrical contact in the image forming device to enter the pocket from above.

  • Patent number: 9942347
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for dynamically adjusting the amount of media content to be cached by a client device streaming media from a streaming device. An initial amount of media content is transmitted for caching to the client device from the streaming device. The location of a client device can be used to determine a connectivity interruption probability between the client device and the streaming device. The amount of media content for caching on the client device is adjusted based on the connectivity interruption probability, and the adjusted amount of media content is transmitted to the client device.

  • Patent number: 9915894
Abstract: An electrographic image forming device according to one example embodiment includes toner cartridge having a housing that includes a toner reservoir. An outlet port faces downward on a front of the housing near a first side of the housing. A linkage is positioned on the first side of the housing and has an engagement surface that is accessible at the rear of the housing. A projection is positioned on the first side of the housing and is movable between a first position and a second position. The projection is operatively connected to the linkage such that the projection moves upward from the first position to the second position when the engagement surface receives a forward force that is toward the front of the housing. The projection extends outward sideways from the first side when the projection is in the second position.

  • Patent number: 9904209
Abstract: A toner cartridge according to one embodiment includes a housing having a toner reservoir. An outlet port in fluid communication with the reservoir is positioned on a front of the housing near a first side of the housing. An interface gear is exposed on the front of the housing near a second side of the housing. A magnet is movable in response to rotation of the interface gear. An engagement member is positioned on an exterior of the top of the housing proximate the second side of the housing. The engagement member is aligned with a point in a path of movement of the magnet. The engagement member has a front surface that is unobstructed to contact and push a magnetic sensor in the image forming device to an operating position of the magnetic sensor during insertion of the toner cartridge into the image forming device.

  • Patent number: 9882326
Abstract: A target detection assembly includes a detection member adapted to generate a first input signal, and an emulator module is removably secured to the detection member. The emulator module includes an emulator housing assembly removably secured to the detection member and a selection portion is disposed on the emulator housing assembly. The selection portion is configured to be oriented in a first and second selection mode. In the first selection mode, a first emulation circuit disposed within the emulator housing assembly receives the first input signal, processes the first input signal, and outputs a first output signal that is different than the first input signal. In the second selection mode, a second emulation circuit disposed within the emulator housing assembly receives the first input signal, processes the first input signal, and outputs a second output signal that is different than the first input signal and the first output signal.
