  • Patent number: 7104204
Abstract: A seeding machine is provided with a frame comprising a center frame section and left and right wing frame sections. The frame has a planting configuration and a transport configuration. The center frame section and the left and right wing frame sections each have a hollow toolbar forming a pneumatic manifold. Individual planting units are mounted to the toolbars. The pneumatic manifold of the center frame section is automatically pneumatically coupled to each of the left and right wing frame sections by a resilient bell that forms a pneumatic path between the center frame section and the left and right wing frame sections when the frame is in its planting configuration. The pneumatic manifolds are pneumatically coupled to pneumatic seed meters on the planting units by air hoses.

  • Patent number: 7017502
Abstract: A pneumatic plug is used to seal off a pneumatic pressure source from a pneumatic pressure seed meter. The pneumatic plug comprises an annular rim defining an annular cavity, a insert portion and a sealing wall. The plug is an integral rubber body. The insert portion is inserted into a pneumatic hose supplying pneumatic pressure to the seed meter. The annular rim defines an annular cavity into which the pneumatic inlet of the seed meter is received. The annular cavity is provided with two inwardly extending sealing ridges that engage the outer sidewalls of the pneumatic inlet. The sealing wall provides a pneumatic seal for the pneumatic hose.

  • Patent number: 6725788
Abstract: A pneumatic coupler for an agricultural seeding machine comprises a hollow tube having an inner portion and an outer portion that are separated by a radially extending flange. The radially extending flange has an inner surface adjoining the inner portion and an outer surface adjoining the outer surface. A flexible and resilient gasket is fitted over the inner portion and adjoins the inner surface of the radially extending flange. The inner portion is further provided with radially extending catches that are located on resilient axially extending tongues formed in the inner portion. When mounted to receiving apertures the catches contact the interior side of the receiving aperture and the flexible and resilient gasket forms an air seal between the exterior surface of the receiving aperture and the inner surface of the radially extending flange.

  • Patent number: 6378621
Abstract: A lift and rotate agricultural implement frame comprises a main frame having a lift tube and a carrier frame slidably mounted to the lift tube. The lift tube comprises a vertically extending main support tube having planar surfaces and a corrosion resistant exterior sleeve. The corrosion resistant exterior sleeve comprises corrosion resistant plates corresponding to the planar surfaces of the main support tube. Each of the plates has an interior surface and an exterior surface. At least one of the corrosion resistant plates adjoins another plate. One of the adjoining plates is provided with an overhang that extends past the exterior surface of the other plate of the pair. The plates are fillet welded to one another between the overhang and the other plate. The plates are also provided with oblong openings having oblong edges. The oblong edges are fillet welded to the main support tube to couple the sleeve to the main support tube.
