  • Patent number: 7379999
Abstract: An event monitoring and logging system, including apparatuses and methods, for instrumenting an on-line application program, or service, for generating and communicating events upon the occurrence of certain conditions during the execution thereof, for monitoring generated events in real and near-real time in accordance with configurable rules, for generating and communicating selected alerts to appropriate personnel upon the exceeding of configurable thresholds, for logging generated events and related information in data files and databases for subsequent analysis, and for producing reports related to such instrumentation and generated events.

  • Publication number: 20070009155
Abstract: A process for intelligent importation of information from a foreign application user interface includes extraction of raster data from a pre-designated region of a screen displayed in the foreign application, segmentation of the raster data into prospective sets of character raster data; application of the character raster data and a feature data set and a vector data set derived from the character raster data as inputs to respective raster, feature, and vector artificial neural networks to generate candidate characters; using a voting process to identify a character represented by the character raster data from the candidate characters; assembly of the remaining characters as recognized by the neural networks into a key; and association of the key with an external data file which may be stored and thereafter retrieved in association with the screen displayed in the foreign application.

  • Patent number: 6121968
Abstract: Drop down menus provided by a computer program are provided in two states, a short menu state and a long menu state. When a user opens a desired menu, the menu opened will initially take the form of a short menu of executable commands which are a subset of the total number of executable commands available under the selected menu. The short menu may be dynamically expanded into a long menu which will contain the complete set of executable commands available under the selected menu. The short menu may be adapted to the personal needs of the user when the user selects commands from the long menu which are not contained in the short menu. Usage information is stored and updated on the usage of each menu command added to a short menu. Menu commands are removed from the adapted short menus based on non-use of those menu commands by the user.

  • Patent number: 4238074
Abstract: A wheeled cart having an L-shaped frame, carrys a pressurized water operated proportioning apparatus, including an inlet fitting, a check valve, a pressure regulator and a jet pump, connected together in series, and mounted to extend across the cart generally at the juncture of the horizontal and vertical portions of the cart frame. A liquid chemical storage tank is mounted onto the horizontal portion and a hose reel, having a built-in swivel-coupling type inlet for the hose, is journaled for rotation onto the vertical portion. The inlet of the swivel coupling, the storage tank outlet and the jet pump are located on the same side of the cart. A liquid chemical is aspirated from the storage tank through filters and a metering apparatus by the jet pump, is admixed into the pressurized water, and the mixture is pumped into a spray hose that, when not in use, is wound onto the hose reel.

  • Patent number: 4133138
Abstract: A base supports a chamber having an upper portion that defines an air exit aperture, a middle portion that has a plurality of air entry apertures and a closed, lower portion that forms a soap solution reservoir. An apertured, bubble forming ring is mounted within the chamber for rotation about a horizontal axis and has its lower portion extending into the soap solution reservoir. An air impeller is mounted within the bubble forming ring for rotation about a vertical axis. When the toy is actuated, the apertured bubble forming ring carries films of soap solution from the reservoir into the upward air current emitted by the air impeller to form a multitude of upwardly projected bubbles.
