Patent number: 10338820Abstract: A system architecture conserves memory bandwidth by including compression utility to process data transfers from the cache into external memory. The cache decompresses transfers from external memory and transfers full format data to naive clients that lack decompression capability and directly transfers compressed data to savvy clients that include decompression capability. An improved compression algorithm includes software that computes the difference between the current data word and each of a number of prior data words. Software selects the prior data word with the smallest difference as the nearest match and encodes the bit width of the difference to this data word. Software then encodes the difference between the current stride and the closest previous stride. Software combines the stride, bit width, and difference to yield final encoded data word. Software may encode the stride of one data word as a value relative to the stride of a previous data word.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2016Date of Patent: July 2, 2019Assignee: NVIDIA CORPORATIONInventors: Rouslan Dimitrov, Jeff Pool, Praveen Krishnamurthy, Chris Amsinck, Karan Mehra, Scott Cutler

Patent number: 10006566Abstract: A support clip for attaching a fluid-carrying tube or line to a substrate is disclosed that provides an air tight seal on a single fluid-carrying tube or line or on multiple fluid-carrying tubes or lines when the tubes are secured between two different surfaces. The support clip has two mated elastomeric surfaces defined by upper and lower halves that account for minor surface-to-surface variations while still maintaining an air tight seal. The lower half is attached to a vehicle substrate by a locating anchor. Each half has a rigid body and an elastomeric portion. The rigid body maintains the form of the elastomeric portion. At least one tube-holding channel is formed in the elastomeric portion of each of half. When the two halves are fastened together by an interference fit, the air tight seal is established. The halves may be fastened together by a variety of mechanical arrangements.Type: GrantFiled: February 29, 2016Date of Patent: June 26, 2018Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Janet Callahan, Scott Cutler, Michael Clark

Patent number: 9398168Abstract: Various exemplary embodiments relate to a method and related network node and machine-readable storage medium including a policy and charging rules node (PCRN) receiving a plurality of related service requests from different devices. The PCRN may establish a Session Binding Identifier (SBI) for each message received. The SBI may include one or more subscriber IDs. Upon receipt of a message, the PCRN may compare the included subscriber IDs against information included in a subscriber database to match with a specific subscriber profile. The PCRN may use the subscriber profile to determine whether existing established sessions are associated with the same subscriber profile, and may bind the sessions together when they are associated with a common subscriber profile.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2014Date of Patent: July 19, 2016Assignee: Alcatel LucentInventors: Kevin Scott Cutler, Felix Katz

Patent number: 9361581Abstract: A method of exchanging a rules engine decision tree cache is disclosed. The method provides for provision accepting a command to build a replacement rules engine decision tree cache, replacing the existing cache if the decision tree creation process is successful, retaining the existing cache if the decision tree creation process is not successful, and providing specific error messages in the event that the replacement fails. The method allows an network operator to change the rules for the rule engine without disruption of real-time service and allows for a level of error checking prior to provisioning the new decision tree.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2010Date of Patent: June 7, 2016Assignee: Alcatel LucentInventors: Kevin Scott Cutler, Katha Kulasingam, Felix Katz, Matthew Yee
