Abstract: Oral instructions for setting up a system of speakers are provided in a setup speaker. The setup speaker audibly plays the instructions and is powered by a battery or external power source. Oral indications of successful connections and completion of the setup are provided. The language of the instructions is also selectable.

Abstract: A mobile computer has a base with a keyboard and one or more storage devices. A touch screen display is removably coupled to the base to form a clamshell like structure. The touch screen display has a processor and memory for receiving and processing input from the touch screen display. The base and touch screen display communicate without wires in either the coupled or uncoupled states. The touch screen display also operates as a tablet PC in one embodiment. Each of the base and touch screen contain transceivers for communicating in a wireless manner. The touch screen display comprises an LCD display and optional keys for use by a user to select or enter data.

Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus and method of displaying a graphical depiction on a display device to assist a user in the assembly and use of a product. The apparatus may detect a fault condition and correspondingly provide a graphical depiction of a method for correcting the fault condition. An apparatus of the present invention may also provide a graphical depiction of a procedure to enhance utility of a product and to activate a function of the apparatus.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method are disclosed for converting audio content to digital files (e.g., MP3 files) and then transferring the converted digital files to a portable player utilizing a standalone unit without the requirement of a computer. An apparatus and a method are also disclosed for converting content from a first recordable media to another format and then transferring the converted content to a portable player or a second recordable media upon a single action of a user, such as pressing a single button on an interface. Further, an apparatus and a method are disclosed for docking a portable player with a standalone device capable of transferring digital files (e.g., MP3 files) to the portable player while also recharging the portable player.

Abstract: A method and a system for broadcast advertising to a mobile communication device are disclosed. The mobile communication device receives a broadcast advertisement from an advertisement broadcasting system or source, preferably through a wireless communication channel, and selects that advertisement based on stored user profile or acceptance data, thereby providing broadcast advertising that is filtered by the communication device. If the communication device selects the advertisement, the advertisement may be displayed or stored.
