  • Patent number: 11525154
Abstract: Devices for detecting microorganism strains or target cellular analytes are provided. The device includes a filter holder, the filter holder comprising a tip portion; a nonwoven article disposed on the tip portion of the filter holder; and an adaptor attacked to the filter holder, the adaptor defining an aperture. Methods of detecting microorganisms and/or cellular analytes in a fluid sample using the devices are also provided. The method includes obtaining the device; placing a lumened or cannulated device in fluid communication with the device; and passing a fluid sample suspected of containing at least one microorganism strain or target cellular analyte from the lumened or cannulated device through the device and contacting the nonwoven article. The method further includes contacting the nonwoven article with at least one detection reagent and detecting the presence of the at least one microorganism strain or target cellular analyte concentrated by the nonwoven article.

  • Patent number: 4783669
Abstract: A sheet supply station for a compact printer of the type having a housing, a feed/transport member which is rotatably mounted within a forward portion of the housing and is adapted to sequentially move sheets from a supply location at the bottom of the housing, through the print zone and out an egress in the upper surface of the housing. The sheet supply station comprises: (a) a drawer, including a drawer face and a drawer bottom, which is constructed to support a sheet stack and slidably mounted for movement in and out of the rear wall of the printer between a withdrawn position enabling stack insertion and a closed position wherein the drawer face is approximately flush with the rear wall; (b) side guides for engaging and centering a sheet stack, which is supported on the bottom wall, during its movement into the housing from the withdrawn drawer position; and (c) an indexing wall located transverse to the drawer path to accurately position an inserted stack beneath the feed/transport member.

  • Patent number: 4725857
Abstract: A print media handling system for a compact printer having a cut-sheet supply station formed in the lower portion of the printer housing and a rotatable print platen constructed and located to feed top sheets from the supply station through a print path ingress past a print zone and out a print path egress formed in the upper portion of the housing, includes (a) structure which mounts the supply station for movement to and from a sheet engaging relation with respect to the print platen and (b) a movable selection member that operates such movements of the supply station. The printer includes a supplemental inlet passage to the print path egress and the selection member includes structure for selectively blocking the supplemental inlet passage. The printer also includes a guide that is selectively positionable to alternatively direct egressing print media to either a sheet output zone or a continuous media output zone.
