  • Patent number: 6139000
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, an improved clamping apparatus is employed. The clamping apparatus includes a clamp body having a first and a second end, an attachment member having a first and second end, the first end of the attachment member connected to the first end of the clamp body, a clamping member having a first end and a second end, the clamping member slidably connected to the second end of the clamp body, a locking mechanism for locking the clamping member, and a spring biasing the locking mechanism towards a locking position. Preferably, the clamping member includes a pad disposed at the second end of the clamping member. Further, the clamping member may include a knob disposed at the first end of the clamping member. The clamping member may be a threaded rod. In addition, the locking mechanism may include a locking button that engages the threaded rod. This locking button has an upper surface. This upper surface may abut the clamp body upon rotation of the threaded rod.

  • Patent number: 5931185
Abstract: Instead of wrapping the air hose around the portable tire inflator housing to store it, an internal storage compartment is provided. A guide device in the compartment guides the hose so that it travels a path which is offset downward from a straight line path between its attachment to the compressor of the inflator and the opening in the compartment top wall. This path reduces pulling stresses on the attachment, assists in manual incremental feed of the hose back into a concealed storage position, and prevents the hose from bunching up into upper corners of the compartment. When in its storage position only the air chuck at the end of the hose is exposed.

  • Patent number: 5924207
Abstract: A saw shoe is provided for use on a hand-held circular saw which has a saw blade for cutting a workpiece. The saw blade has an identified direction of travel. The shoe rides upon a top surface of the workpiece. The shoe has a base with an aperture extending therethrough which accommodates the saw blade. The base further has a top surface and a generally planar bottom surface. The base has a first edge which is located forwardly of the saw blade with respect to the direction of travel of the saw blade, and a second edge opposite said first edge. A pair of opposing side edges extend between the first and second edges. The base further has an opening extending therethrough from the top surface of the base to the bottom surface. The opening is located adjacent to the first edge and at least a portion of the opening is in co-linear relation to the direction of travel of the saw blade so that the user of the saw can view the workpiece through the opening.

  • Patent number: 5823657
Abstract: A lamp clamp uses a portion of the lamp as a moveable clamping jaw. This portion is screw-threaded into a threaded aperture of one of the arms of a C-shaped member. The other arm of the C-shaped member includes an object-engaging portion which further includes two pressure pads separated by a dished portion. The C-shaped member includes a coextensive flange around the inner periphery of the "C". The flange assists in stabilizing the clamp against the object, such as, the side edge of a worktable. The end of the moveable portion is attached to a swivel head which is pivotably engageable with the object in several orientations. The arrangement is especially useful when it is desired to mount a flashlight having a flexible stem (such as the Black & Decker.RTM. SnakeLight.TM. flashlight). The moveable clamping jaw defines a cylindrical tube into which is slideably mounted the graspable portion of the flashlight.
