  • Publication number: 20100082122
Abstract: Methods and systems for assessing transmitter electronics in an industrial process control system comprise generating a process condition reference equation signal, a process condition approximation equation signal, and an accuracy output signal. The process condition reference equation signal is generated using a process condition reference equation and process control inputs. The process condition approximation equation signal is generated using a process condition approximation equation that approximates the reference equation using the process control inputs, and approximation equation coefficients based on the approximation equation and the process control inputs. The approximation equation signal is compared to the reference equation signal at a control room workstation such that the industrial process control system can be adjusted. In one embodiment, the approximation equation coefficients are adjusted and transmitted to process transmitter electronics over a control network.

  • Publication number: 20100016653
Abstract: The disclosure relates to the use of genetic traits in livestock for determining breeding characteristics of livestock progeny, and for optimizing the management and marketing of livestock for improving feedlot performance and meat quality. The disclosure specifically relates to genetic markers and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the bovine somatostatin locus, as well as haplotypes that include the somatostatin locus, which are associated with certain quantitative trait loci (QTLs), such as marbling, meat quality grade, and yield grade. In a preferred embodiment, the SNPs and haplotypes are predictive of the increased or decreased amount of tissue marbling in the animal.

  • Patent number: 7600046
Abstract: A method, apparatus, computer program product, and computer system for ensuring consistency between data displayed by multiple independent client programs that can simultaneously display server-provided data. The data are accessible only from a server that is not persistently connected to the client computer systems) displaying the data, so the client programs cannot retrieve the data independently without sending a request to the server. Client programs do not poll the server by sending a request to learn that data capable of being displayed by the multiple client programs have been updated. Instead, client programs are notified by the server program receiving the request to change the data at the time the request is received.

  • Patent number: 7536053
Abstract: Nonlinear distortions of imaging optics within a computer vision system are quantified as corrective values within a viewing window defined by a pixel array. A test artifact is displaced within an object plane through increments of measured distances and the corresponding displacements of the test artifact within an image plane are recorded within the pixel array. Comparisons are made between the actual appearances of the test artifact within the image plane and predicted appearances of the test artifact within the image plane based on the measured displacements in the object plane for determining the corrective values.

  • Publication number: 20090064171
Abstract: Provided a method, system, and article of manufacture for updating workflow nodes in a workflow. A workflow program processes user input at one node in a workflow comprised of nodes and workflow paths connecting the nodes, wherein the user provides user input to traverse through at least one workflow path to reach the current node. The workflow program transmits information on a current node to an analyzer. The analyzer processes the information on the current node to determine whether there are modifications to at least one subsequent node following the current node over at least one workflow path from the current node. The analyzer transmits to the workflow program an update including modifications to the at least one subsequent node in response to determining the modifications.

  • Publication number: 20090064130
Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and article of manufacture for updating a workflow when a user reaches an impasse in the workflow. A workflow program processes user input at a current node in a workflow comprised of nodes and workflow paths connecting the nodes, and wherein the user provides user input to traverse through at least one workflow path to reach the current node. The workflow program processes user input at the current node to determine whether there is a next node in the workflow for the processed user input. The workflow program transmits information on the current node to an analyzer in response to determining that there is no next node in the workflow. The analyzer processes the information on the current node to determine whether there are modifications to the current node. The analyzer transmits to the workflow program an update including the determined modifications to the current node in response to determining the modification.

  • Publication number: 20090011210
Abstract: A glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic sheet material is provided in which certain properties, or combinations of properties, are improved relative to similar comparative sheet materials. The sheet material generally comprises a glass mat or glass fabric fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin in which the thermoplastic resin at least partially impregnates the glass mat or fabric. The thermoplastic sheet material contains about 15 wt. % to about 65 wt. % of the glass mat or fabric based on the weight of the thermoplastic sheet material and has a thickness in the range of about 0.4 mm to about 3.0 mm. By including glass mat or fabric and maintaining the sheet thickness in the aforementioned range, the present invention thermoplastic sheet material exhibits improved flexural and/or tensile strength and modulus properties at reduced basis weight compared to a comparative thermoplastic sheet materials.
