  • Publication number: 20120166414
Abstract: Systems and methods for relevance scoring are provided. Traditional scoring models use word frequency and placement to determine relevance. In contrast to these models, embodiments of the present invention provide cluster-based relevance scoring and tagging. Some embodiments use various cluster mappings and vector space models to generate relevance scores. In addition, the cluster mappings can be updated overtime to reflect a change in topic clustering.

  • Publication number: 20070198494
Abstract: Apparatus and method for facilitating a search for sets of gems includes, in one embodiment, a computer-readable medium having a gem search module configured to facilitate a search for a set of N matching gems (where N may be an integer of at least two). The gem search module provides a user-interface element representing a set of values of a gem attribute, receives a selection of a particular value from the set of values, and identifies a set of N matching gems as being associated with that value.

  • Publication number: 20060106783
Abstract: A system or method consistent with an embodiment of the present invention is useful in analyzing large volumes of different types of data, such as textual data, numeric data, categorical data, or sequential string data, for use in identifying relationships among the data types or different operations that have been performed on the data. A system or method consistent with the present invention determines and displays the relative content and context of related information and is operative to aid in identifying relationships among disparate data types. Various data types, such as numerical data, protein and DNA sequence data, categorical information, and textual information, such as annotations associated with the numerical data or research papers may be correlated for visual analysis. A variety of user-selectable views may be correlated for user interaction to identify relationships that exist among the different types of data or various operations performed on the data.

  • Patent number: 5999876
Abstract: An engine control system for a vehicle engine includes an engine control module (ECM) that enters a modified sleep mode when the vehicle key switch is turned to the "off" position. In the modified sleep mode, all non-essential operating tasks normally executed by the ECM are disabled to place the ECM in a mode of reduced power consumption. In addition, various communications interrupts are disabled, except for interrupts associated with at least one external data transmission device. During the modified sleep mode, priority for communications with the external device are highest to permit external communication to and from the ECM using the external device. In this modified sleep mode, the vehicle operator or engine technician can download or upload data to and from the ECM memory. The ECM includes a sleep mode task module that is maintained during the modified sleep mode. The sleep mode task module controls a sleep mode termination timer (SMT timer) that counts the time the ECM is in the modified sleep mode.
