  • Patent number: 9959845
Abstract: The present inventive disclosures are generally directed to various improved versions of locking compensated nuts for fretted stringed musical instruments. Many embodiments are especially directed to improved locking compensated nuts that can be more-easily retrofitted into existing guitars and other stringed musical instruments without requiring any major reconfigurations or modifications of the base instruments, and some variations are directed to a detachably coupled tuner-mount device that will facilitate enhanced tuning capabilities because of improved vibrational communication between the instrument strings and the tuner. In addition, some improved locking compensated nuts described herein feature interchangeable compensated inserts to allow for easy adaption to alternate string sets.

  • Publication number: 20120266963
Abstract: A mixer facilitates dissolving a lower density material into a higher density material using a rotating paddle to create a highly turbulent mixing zone in a mixing chamber adjacent to the flow of the higher density material. In an illustrated example, the mixer includes a motor that drives a mixing paddle to create a highly turbulent mixing of a liquid and a gas in the mixing chamber. The mixing paddle resides in a paddle chamber connected to the liquid transfer pipe by the mixing chamber. The mixing paddle is preferably just outside the opening from the paddle chamber to the mixing chamber for increased turbulence in the mixing chamber. A portion of the liquid flowing in the transfer pipe enters into the mixing chamber, mixes with the gas, and the mixture flows back into the transfer pipe.

  • Publication number: 20120166414
Abstract: Systems and methods for relevance scoring are provided. Traditional scoring models use word frequency and placement to determine relevance. In contrast to these models, embodiments of the present invention provide cluster-based relevance scoring and tagging. Some embodiments use various cluster mappings and vector space models to generate relevance scores. In addition, the cluster mappings can be updated overtime to reflect a change in topic clustering.

  • Publication number: 20110286297
Abstract: A gas infuser facilitates dissolving a gas into a liquid to produce a supersaturated liquid. A liquid in the infuser is spread over the surfaces of infuser structures in the infuser chamber such that the liquid forms a film on the surfaces in the presence of a pressurized gas. Preferably the liquid flows by gravity over the surfaces of the infuser structures as it flows in a cascade from an input at the top of the infuser. The infuser described herein may be used with a variety of infuser structures to provide increased surface area for the cascading flow of liquid. The liquid leaves the infuser supersaturated with the gas. The supersaturated liquid can then be used in any one of a variety of industrial type processes. The infuser is preferably a continuous flow process but may also be operated as a batch process. The gas and liquid are preferably introduced together into the infuser under pressure in a non-dissolved state or semi-dissolved state.
