  • Publication number: 20240361495
Abstract: A computer system provides location-based weather services. Weather data is processed to determine one or more weather values for a location. The one or more weather values are compared to baseline weather data for the location to identify a weather event, wherein the weather event is identified in response to determining that the one or more weather values deviate from a corresponding one or more baseline values of the baseline weather data by a threshold amount. A request is received from a user device for weather information for the location. Information relating to the weather event is provided to the user device. Embodiments of the present invention further include a method and program product for providing location-based weather services in substantially the same manner described above.

  • Publication number: 20210263622
Abstract: Techniques are provided for controlling arrangement of content (display elements) on a display presented to a user on a device. A set of display elements is received from a server. A primary tier and one or more secondary tiers are populated with display elements from the set of display elements according to a default pattern to establish an arrangement of the display elements. Interactions of the user with the display elements are monitored, wherein information obtained from monitoring is stored locally on the device. A level of interest of the user for the display elements is inferred based on the interactions. The arrangement of the display elements is updated with regard to the primary tier and the one or more secondary tiers to correspond to the level of interest of the user.

  • Patent number: 9129333
Abstract: An approach is provided for managing location-based transactions. A posting application determines to associate transaction information with a geographic location, the transaction information relating to one or more users. The posting application determines location information associated with respective devices of the one or more users. The posting application determines to transmit a notification related to the one or more transactions to the respective devices based, at least in part, on the location information.

  • Patent number: 6100032
Abstract: Two human Smad proteins (Smad3 and Smad4) specifically recognize an identical 8 bp palindromic sequence (GTCTAGAC) (SEQ ID NO: 1). Tandem repeats of this palindrome confer striking TGF-.beta. responsiveness to a minimal promoter. This responsiveness is abrogated by targeted deletion of the cellular Smad4 gene. DNA molecules comprising the 8 bp palindromic sequence can be used in assays for drug screening and diagnostically.

  • Patent number: 5729190
Abstract: A dynamic comparator circuit for a cache memory within a computer system is disclosed. In accordance with an illustrative embodiment of the present disclosure, the dynamic comparator circuit includes a first transistor, a first set of two transistors and a second set of two transistors. The first transistor is connected between an output and ground, having its gate connecting to a precharge signal. The first set of two transistors is connected in series between a power supply and the output. The gates of the first set of two transistors are separately connected to a first bit signal and a second bit signal. The second set of two transistors is also connected in series between the power supply and the output. The gates of the second set of two transistors are separately connected to a complement of the first bit signal and a complement of the second bit signal such that a transition occurs in an output signal when the first bit signal matches the second bit signal.
