  • Patent number: 6904461
Abstract: A method and apparatus determines an inbound traffic intensity of a visitable site, wherein the inbound traffic intensity factor is representative of a measure of meaningful visits to a visitable site in a given time period. The inbound traffic intensity factor is determined by obtaining visitor information including the number of visits to the visitable site during the given time period as well as the duration of each visit and using both the number visits and the time spent during each visit to quantify the traffic to the site during the time period.

  • Patent number: 6427602
Abstract: A pipe crawler apparatus particularly useful for 3-inch and 4-inch diameter pipes is provided. The pipe crawler apparatus uses a gripping apparatus in which a free end of a piston rod is modified with a bearing retaining groove. Bearings, placed within the groove, are directed against a camming surface of three respective pivoting support members. The non-pivoting ends of the support members carry a foot-like gripping member that, upon pivoting of the support member, engages the interior wall of the pipe.

  • Patent number: 6425696
Abstract: A fiber optic ferrule receptacle with a single-molded housing having a base, a cylinder on a first side of the base having a bore for receiving an optic ferrule, a socket on a second side of the base, opposing the first side, for receiving an optical element; and the bore having a first diameter at an outer opening distal to the base, and a second diameter at an inner opening adjacent to the base, wherein the first diameter is greater than the second diameter. A second embodiment comprises a single-molded housing having a base, a cylinder on a first side of the base having a bore for receiving an optic ferrule, a socket on a second side of the base, opposing the first side, for receiving an optical element; and a plurality of sloping ridges located on the inner wall of the cylinder, wherein widths of the sloping ridges increase closer to the base.

  • Patent number: 6349105
Abstract: A small format optoelectronic package or device includes a non-electrically conductive substrate partially covered by an electrically conductive can. The electrically conductive can has a transparent element affixed to an aperture of the electrically conductive can. The electrically conductive can encloses and hermetically seals an optical diode, and conductors between the electrically conductive can and the non-electrically conductive substrate. The non-electrically conductive substrate has two through-holes formed through a thickness of the non-electrically conductive substrate. The two through-holes are filled with an electrically conductive material so as to form two electrically conductive vias. Additionally, a surface of the non-electrically conductive substrate is organized into two regions. The first region has the electrically conductive plating material applied thereto. The first and second through-holes protrudes through the second region.

  • Patent number: 6283644
Abstract: An optical package is provided including a housing having first and second ends. A ferrule receiving bore is formed in the first end, and an optics cavity is formed in the second end. The optics cavity and the ferrule receiving bore are axially aligned with one another along an optical axis defined by the package. A mounting cap is inserted over the optics cavity and frictionally engages an outer surface of the housing. The end cap includes an endplate and a substrate having an optical device mounted thereon. The ferrule receiving bore includes a longitudinal slot extending generally parallel to the axis of the bore providing radial flexibility to the outer wall. Additionally, a split sleeve is provided for accepting a fiber optic connector ferrule. The split sleeve being insertable and expandable in a ferrule receiving bore of an optical package housing. The split sleeve being retained in the ferrule receiving bore with an adhesive.

  • Patent number: 6266931
Abstract: A low-cost, compact room slideout assembly is provided for driving a sliding element, such as a floor, and comprises at least one motor having a motor output pinion rotatable about a first axis, a drive screw operatively connected to the motor output and rotatable about the first axis, and a driving member, such an elongate ram adapted to be attached to the sliding element. The ram travels along the first axis between extended and retracted positions in response to rotation of the motor output shaft. Preferably operatively connected between the motor output shaft and the drive screw is a speed reducing gearbox with an output shaft rotatable about the first axis, and a 90 degree gearbox operatively connected to the drive screw and rotatable about the first axis. The 90 degree gearbox preferably also has a second output member which is rotatable about a second axis perpendicular to the first axis. The 90 degree gearbox can comprise a series of bevel gears.
