  • Patent number: 9781157
Abstract: Several methods are disclosed for detecting and mitigating Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks that are intended to exhaust network resources. The methods use DDoS mitigation devices to detect DDoS attacks using operationally based thresholds. The methods also keep track of ongoing attacks, have an understanding of “protected IP space,” and activate appropriate mitigation tactics based on the severity of the attack and the capabilities of the DDoS mitigation devices.

  • Publication number: 20150348098
Abstract: Various embodiments are directed towards a computer-implemented method and system that analyzes screenplays to identify and score opportunities for product placements. In certain embodiments the method uses natural language speech recognition or other speech processing techniques to identify product placement opportunities. The method initially scans or processes the text in a screenplay to identify significant nouns and actions that equate to opportunities. It then applies a grammar to generate a score for some or all of the opportunities.

  • Patent number: 8989490
Abstract: There are provided methods and systems for use in performing feature sensitive captioning of media content. In one implementation, such a method includes detecting an aesthetically determinative feature of a media content unit selected by a user, and determining a captioning aesthetic for a caption of the media content unit based at least in part on the aesthetically determinative feature. The captioning aesthetic may include a background aesthetic and a text aesthetic. The captioning aesthetic may be utilized by a feature sensitive captioning application to produce a feature sensitive caption for the media content unit.
