    Abstract: A refillable liquid candle includes a container; a nonflammable combustible liquid fuel disposed within the container; and a wick located in the container and having a portion of the wick disposed in the liquid fuel and an exposed portion of the wick located above the fuel and exposed to air for providing a flame site, the wick configured to transport the fuel to the flame site. The candle consumes the liquid fuel when ignited to provide a flame at the flame site, and the liquid fuel may be replaced by adding additional liquid fuel to replace the consumed liquid fuel.

Specifically, the present invention comprises a method for discriminating between endogenous reverse transcriptase activity in a substrate cell line (e.g., avian) used as substrates for the manufacture of biological products (including viral vaccines) from exogenous infectious retrovirus by using a combination of transmissibility assay (viral replication) and PBRT assay (RT-PCR). Appropriate levels of viral amplification and number of PCR cycles are determined and employed that permit detection of exogenous infectious RT activity but not endogenous RT activity.
