  • Publication number: 20240112544
Abstract: An electronic gaming device that includes a display device, an input device, a memory device, and a processor is described. The processor causes to be displayed a dual symbol configured as a wild symbol and as a credit on reel (or cash-on-reel) symbol that indicates a prize to be awarded if a trigger symbol also lands in the same row as the dual symbol. The processor causes a base game to be initiated that includes causing symbols to be displayed on reels within a display matrix on a display device wherein each reel is configured to spin. During game play of the base game, the dual symbol, if displayed, persists between different reel spins and moves up one row each reel spin from a previous symbol position to a new symbol position.

  • Patent number: 11934376
Abstract: A database management engine provides a user interface that allows users to access and modify employee information in a database. The database includes entries for employees, and each database entry includes identifying information about the associated employee. A user can request to modify data within database entries, for instance in order to update information associated with an employee. Responsive to the request, the database management engine identifies liabilities associated with the database modification stemming from associated tax laws. Based on the identified tax liabilities, the engine computes the aggregate tax liability owed by the employer and/or employee. Before modifying a database entry, the engine modifies the user interface to include interface elements detailing the computed aggregate tax liability. The user explicitly can be required to confirm the database modification in view of the aggregate tax liability.

  • Publication number: 20240021277
Abstract: A machine learning system predicts a physicochemical property (e.g., lipophilicity) of candidate small molecules for pharmaceuticals. A machine learning model is constructed that is trained from a database of small molecule physicochemical properties including known lipophilicity and known retention time in a liquid chromatography column to create a learned association between lipophilicity and liquid chromatography retention time. A candidate small molecule having unknown lipophilicity and unknown retention time is applied to a liquid chromatography column. The retention time of the candidate small molecule in the liquid chromatography column is measured. The measured retention time in the liquid chromatography column is applied to the machine learning model to obtain lipophilicity for the candidate small molecule. One or more candidate small molecules having a lipophilicity value from approximately 1 to approximately 3 are selected from the machine learning model.

  • Patent number: 11874251
Abstract: An ion mass spectrometer that has an ion channel shaped to modify the speed of a carrier gas as the carrier gas traverses the ion channel. In one case, the ion channel has a tapered shape, which continuously varies the gas flow rate. This arrangement is made using conductors located in the drift tube. This controlled variation in speed together with the control of the axial electric field in the ion channel, provide greater control on the separation of ions in the ion channel. A method of analyzing ions based on a variation of at least one of axial electric field and of the speed of the flowing gas in the ion channel is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11847892
Abstract: An electronic gaming machine (EGM) or another type of gaming device may be configured to provide games that involve “WYSIWYG” (what you see is what you get) symbols or “prize on” symbols. The gaming device may be configured to provide the value of all “prize on” symbols that land during a single instance of a game if a prize on trigger symbol, which also may be referred to herein as a blast symbol, lands during the same instance of the game. In some examples, the game may be a base game. According to some examples, a feature does not need to be triggered during the instance of the base game for the value of all prize on symbols that land during the instance of the base game to be awarded. In other examples, the game may be a feature game, such as a “hold and spin” game.

  • Patent number: 11728152
Abstract: A plurality of known compounds with known CCS values is analyzed using a DMS device. The DMS device determines how the intensities of their transmitted ions vary with different separation voltages (SVs) and compensation voltages (CVs). A machine learning algorithm builds a data model from the known m/z value, known CCS value, and measured pairs of CV and SV values that provide optimal transmission through the DMS device for each of the known compounds. An unknown compound with an unknown CCS value is then analyzed. The DMS device determines how the intensity of its ions varies with the same different SVs and CVs. Finally, the machine learning algorithm predicts the CCS value of the unknown compound from the data model, the known m/z of the unknown compound, and the measured pairs of CV and SV values that provide optimal transmission through the DMS device for the unknown compound.

  • Publication number: 20230237877
Abstract: Electronic gaming machines and systems are disclosed that provide for a symbol-based main game that features an array of symbol positions that may, if an array growth condition is met, increase in size. Determining whether the array growth condition is met may involve determining how many array growth symbols are shown in association with a game play. A further determination may be made as to whether a feature game trigger condition is met and, if so, a feature game may be presented that utilizes the same array of symbol positions that were present in the main game when the feature game was triggered. Additional array growth may occur in the feature game if the array growth condition is met again.

  • Patent number: 11598748
Abstract: An ion mass spectrometer that has an ion channel shaped to modify the speed of a carrier gas as the carrier gas traverses the ion channel. In one case, the ion channel has segments of constant diameter in which the speed of the flowing gas is constant but different than the speed in other segments of the ion channel. This controlled variation in speed from segment to segment, together with the control of the axial electric field in the ion channel, provide greater control on the separation of ions in the ion channel. A method of analyzing ions based on a variation of at least one of axial electric field and of the speed of the flowing gas in the ion channel is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11483288
Abstract: Distributed firewalls reside at different points across a network. Each distributed firewall can include one or more rules that govern traffic over and/or access to the network. The rules can be discovered, converted into a standardized format, and indexed at a centralized rule database. The rules or data of the rules can be verified. The rules can be certified at the centralized database. The certification process can be based on a direction of traffic to which the rule governs. The certification process may have different levels based on the direction of traffic.
