Publication number: 20230188446Abstract: Embodiments are directed to managing communication over one or more networks. A monitoring engine may be instantiated to perform actions including receiving network traffic from a physical network that may be associated with network addresses of the physical network. The monitoring engine may analyze the network traffic to associate activity with gateway identifiers (GIDs) associated with gateway computers in an overlay network such that the GIDs are separate from the network addresses. The monitoring engine may be arranged to monitor the network traffic based on monitoring rules. The monitoring engine may provide metrics associated with the gateway computers based on the monitoring of the network traffic. The monitoring engine may compare the metrics to event rules. The monitoring engine may generate events based on affirmative results of the comparison. The events may be mapped to actions based on characteristics of the events and executed.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 17, 2022Publication date: June 15, 2023Inventors: Nicholas Anthony Marrone, Bryan David Skene, Ludwin Fuchs, Jeffrey Scott Hussey

Patent number: 8487786Abstract: An aircraft display system includes an electronic display configured to provide at least one of graphical and textual elements and electronics configured to receive a signal indicating an ambient light level. The electronics set a brightness of the display using a first calculation in response to a desired contrast ratio and the ambient light level and using a second calculation in response to the desired contrast ratio and the ambient light level.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 2010Date of Patent: July 16, 2013Assignee: Rockwell Collins, Inc.Inventors: Scott A. Patent number: 6997170Abstract: A new and improved EGR valve having a valve body having an inlet port and an outlet port with a valve member moveably supported within the valve body between the inlet and outlet ports. A control cap is connected to the valve body and contains an integrated sensor that is used to provide an engine control module with pressure readings from the valve body and the interior portion of the cap. Additionally the cap also has an integrated zero emissions system that is capable of preventing the release of harmful chemicals into the atmosphere.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2004Date of Patent: February 14, 2006Assignee: BorgWarner Inc.Inventors: Aaron Feiner, Mark A. Duda, Scott Hussey, Bennett J. Arndt, Peter G. Weissinger

Patent number: 6374814Abstract: The valve has a solenoid actuator and a position sensor providing an electric signal of the position of the solenoid armature. The solenoid is an electromagnet coil disposed on a plastic bobbin. The magnetic circuit contains a stator member having a flange disposed against a flange of the bobbin, and the position sensor has a plastic housing having a base that captures the stator member flange against the bobbin flange. The stator member flange contains apertures through which non-metallic material that joins with the bobbin flange passes to join with the position sensor housing base, thereby uniting the bobbin and the position sensor housing in assembly capturing the stator member flange. The assembly may be fabricated by an insert molding method or a method in which joining material is melted.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2000Date of Patent: April 23, 2002Assignee: Siemens Canada LimitedInventors: John Edward Cook, Scott Hussey

Patent number: 6311677Abstract: An internal combustion engine cylinder head (142) has an exterior wall that contains a walled compartment (140). A wall of that compartment is exposed to an internal coolant passage (146) through which liquid coolant circulates. An exhaust gas passageway (160) running through the compartment has an exhaust gas entrance (162) into the compartment and an exhaust gas exit (164) from the compartment. The compartment comprises a receptacle (148) that intersects the exhaust gas passageway between the entrance and the exit. An EGR valve (10) disposed on the exterior wall comprises a base (12) that has an inlet port (30) and an outlet port (32) and that is disposed within the receptacle with the inlet port open to the entrance via the passageway and the outlet port open to the exit via the passageway. As hot exhaust gas is recirculated, coolant that circulates through the coolant passage aids in limiting peak temperatures to which the valve may be subjected.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2000Date of Patent: November 6, 2001Assignee: Siemens Canada LimitedInventors: John Edward Cook, Scott Hussey
