  • Publication number: 20230360566
Abstract: Methods and systems for adjusting device functions based on ambient conditions or battery status are disclosed. When environmental or device conditions reach a threshold level, device function such as display brightness or display refresh rate may be adjusted. One such example, may include a method and system for image fusion with a wide camera and a second image from a narrow camera to create a composite image with unnoticeable blending between the images.

  • Publication number: 20230236417
Abstract: Examples are disclosed that relate to a compact optical systems comprising SLMs. One example provides a projection system comprising an illumination stage including a light emitting diode (LED) array. The LED array comprises a plurality of red LEDs, a plurality of green LEDs, and a plurality of blue LEDs. The illumination stage further comprises an illumination stage optical system configured to control an angular extent of light emitted by the LED array and homogenize the light emitted by the LED array. The projection system further comprises an image forming stage configured to form an image from light output by the illumination stage, the image forming stage comprising a spatial light modulator (SLM) configured to spatially modulate the light output by the illumination stage to form an image, and one or more projection optics configured to project the image formed by the spatial light modulator.

  • Publication number: 20230152587
Abstract: A headset for use with immersive reality applications is provided. The headset includes a left eyepiece and a right eyepiece mounted on a frame, a display in at least one of the left eyepiece or the right eyepiece, the display comprising an array of multiple light emitting pixels, an ambient light sensor to measure an amount of ambient light, and a processor configured to control a light intensity of the light emitting pixels based on the amount of ambient light. A method for using the above headset is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20200127440
Abstract: A wearable display includes left and right display lens systems each having imaging units configured for augmented reality imaging. The imaging units include an emitter structure, one or more optical elements, a display optic, an electrically alterable scanning optical element and a calibration light sensor. The emitter structure has one or more light sources configured to emit light. The optical elements direct the light along a light path in the imaging unit. The scanning optical element receives the light from the optical elements and directs it to the display optic. The scanning optical element scans in one or more dimensions to direct the light through an imaging optic that directs the light into the display optic. The calibration light sensor is located at a point along the light path between the emitter structure and the scanning optical element and receives a portion of light from one of the optical elements.
