  • Patent number: 6865656
Abstract: A method and system for transferring data bytes includes a first memory adapted to store a plurality of multiple-byte data words including header field bytes and one or more data field bytes. The system also includes a second memory adapted to store data field bytes transferred thereto from the first memory. A controller coupled to the first and second memories reads a data word including the header field byte and the one or more data field bytes out of the first memory. The system also includes a data packer coupled to the controller and the second memory. The controller and data packer cooperate to transfer the one or more data field bytes of the first data word read from the first memory to the second memory. The data packer stores only the one or more data field bytes in the second memory contiguously with a previously transferred and stored data field byte.

  • Publication number: 20040122729
Abstract: An information collection system includes a network of connected electronic communications devices. The devices permit design of a survey questionnaire. The survey questionnaire is communicated over the network to another device communicatively connected to the network. A response to the survey questionnaire is input to the device that receives the survey questionnaire. The response is communicated over the network to other devices of the network. A database saves the response with all other responses. Information from responses are compiled and processed. Reports are generated of the survey results. The system is particularly useful to rate vendors and products from vendors, for example, in a supply function or operation of an enterprise.

  • Patent number: 6437808
Abstract: An apparatus and method for transmitting graphical representations is disclosed. The present invention has an image generator (112) that generates an image (114) of a head (106) with facial features, including an eye portion (202) that correlates to an eye (240) in the head (106). The apparatus also has a non-updating tracker (116) that searches for an eye target image of the eye (240) in the head (106). The eye portion (202) correlating to the eye (240) is positioned at the target image located by the non-updating tracker (116). The apparatus also has an updating tracker (118) that searches for an updated eye target image when the non-updating tracker (116) is unable to locate the eye target image. The updating tracker (118) also positions the eye portion (202) at the updated eye target image and updates the updated eye target image with the eye portion (202). The updating tracker further determines the location of the eye portion (202).

  • Patent number: 6202916
Abstract: A method and assembly for preserving solder connections of components mounted on a thin laminate circuit board during wave soldering of leaded components to the circuit board. The method generally entails supporting the circuit board on a pallet with pedestals that contact the surface of the circuit board directly opposite surface-mount components on the board. The pallet also includes an access directly opposite leaded components assembled to the board so that their leads are exposed. The pallet and board assembly are then placed on a wave soldering apparatus and wave soldered while applying and maintaining a force to the circuit board that ensures contact between the pedestals and the surface of the board opposite the surface-mount components, so that the leads of the leaded components are soldered to the circuit board.
