Abstract: The invention is an optoelectronic device comprising a transparent polymeric substrate bearing on one surface thereof a transparent polymerized organosilicon protective layer, a first electrode over the polymerized protective layer, an optoelectrically active film comprising an electroactive material, said film having a first side, which is in contact with the transparent electrode and a second side in contact with a second electrode, wherein said first electrode is characterized in that it allows light to pass to or from the optoelectrically active film. Preferably, the device further comprises additional protective packaging over the second electrode.
