  • Patent number: 11679624
Abstract: Axle seat assemblies and methods of manufacturing thereof, are provided for attachment to an axle body (15). The axle seat assembly may be comprised of a first piece (42) and a second piece (50). The first piece (42) may have a first wall, a second wall and a first axle seat piece engagement portion providing a first engagement surface. The second piece (50) may have a third wall and a second axle seat piece engagement portion providing a second engagement surface. The first wall and the second wall of the first piece are oriented to engage a front surface of an axle body and the third wall of the second piece is oriented to engage a rear surface (30) of an axle body. The first and second engagement surfaces of the respective first and second pieces of the axle seat assembly are positioned and configured to engage one another to removably and reversibly secure with the use of a fastener the first piece to the second piece to form an axle seat assembly.

  • Patent number: 10207737
Abstract: A steering knuckle (18) is provided for use in association with a vehicle steering assembly (10). The steering knuckle (10) includes a knuckle body (20) having a generally vertical face (26) and an upper yolk arm (22) having a generally vertical face (54). The generally vertical faces (26, 54) of the steering knuckle body (20) and the upper yolk arm (22) are connected to each other. The generally vertical face (54) of the upper yolk arm (22) includes a camshaft bore (62) extending therethrough and configured to receive a camshaft (64). The generally vertical face of the knuckle body may be welded to a spindle (24), with a portion of the spindle being cut away to allow for a complete circular weld between the knuckle body and the spindle.

  • Publication number: 20150266507
Abstract: A steering lock mechanism for a steerable axle/suspension system includes a pair of independent tie rods, each one connected to a respective one of a pair of pivoting ends of a steerable axle/suspension system and also connected to a steering bracket that is pivotally connected to the axle of the steerable axle/suspension system. A primary lock assembly, which includes an air spring, and a secondary lock assembly are operatively connected to the steering bracket and to the steerable axle/suspension system. When the air spring of the primary lock assembly is inflated with air or when the secondary lock assembly is activated, the steering bracket is prevented from pivoting and in turn the first and second tie rods are prevented from moving transversely, so that the steerable axle/suspension system is locked into a generally straight travel position during operation of the vehicle.
