  • Patent number: 8826497
Abstract: A magnetic clip is provided having two magnetic components to create a low-cost, thin, soft magnetic vise-like mechanism. The magnetic components are disposed in individual stickers or a unitary sticker. The clip includes an adhesive layer to which a real banknote may be removably attached. The user can simply peel back the banknote to open the magnetic vise-like mechanism to insert or remove one or more banknotes. The user then folds the substrate back onto itself to close and secure the remaining banknote(s).

  • Publication number: 20120211500
Abstract: A container for hot liquids includes a thermal barrier printed on a surface thereof. The thermal barrier includes a plurality of expandable microspheres that expand when exposed to heat to increase thermal insulation. During shipping and pre-use, the thermal barrier is not activated. Exposure to heat from a hot liquid poured in the container activates the microspheres, which expand to increase thermal insulation properties, thereby allowing a user to hold the cup without being too hot to the touch.

  • Patent number: 7905674
Abstract: A toothbrush body includes a handle connected to a head and bristles projecting from the top of the head. An open channel runs longitudinally along the body between a first open end and a second closed end such that the first open end is in communication with the second closed end through the open channel. The open channel, the first open end, and the second closed end are arranged so that a substantially downward running stream of water directed into the first open end is redirected through the channel and out of the closed second end to form a fountain. A direction of a flow of the fountain at the other of the first opening and the second opening has an upward component so that a user, i.e., holder of the toothbrush, can use the fountain for oral rinsing.

  • Patent number: 5553848
Abstract: A portable positioning device which permits a person to engage in the repetitive striking of such object at any selected vertical position, even in a relatively confined location, so as to tone the required muscles, develop muscle memory of the proper motion, and develop the proper execution of the striking motion. The multiple sport practice apparatus includes a portable stand, a generally vertical post or riser portion supported by the stand, an elongated flexible rod assembly at least partially comprised of a flexible material having shape memory, first and second anchoring members for guiding a proximal end portion of the elongated flexible member in rotating movement about a substantially vertical axis defined by the vertical post, and an elastic member for securing a proximal end portion of the elongated flexible member to the vertical post.

  • Patent number: 4739993
Abstract: An electrically powered device for tossing and catching a ball includes a cup portion configured to receive the ball and having an internal push member which can be reciprocated within the cup portion. Both the push member and the ball preferably are coated with Velcro material to hold the ball to the push member, and a coil spring is provided between the push member and the bottom wall of the cup portion to urge the push member in an upward position adjacent the open end of the cup portion. A solenoid or other electrically-powered device is provided for retracting the push member within the cup portion to enable a user to catch the ball within the cup portion, and a latching bar is provided to hold the push member in its retracted position. Additionally, a switch is provided to withdraw the latching bar from its engagement with the push member after catching the ball so the ball can be forcibly ejected from the cup member by the action of the coil spring.
