    Abstract: The invention is a battery clamshell plate comprising a plurality of laminate layers stacked and connected together. The laminate layers may be made of printed circuit board (PCB). The laminate layers may have cut outs to house battery cells, of which the battery cells are connected to the battery clamshell plate by friction or mechanical means. The invention considers strategies to minimize weight and to ensure resistance to shock and vibration failures. This invention also considers air cooling in between cells.

    Abstract: A clamshell plate for a battery pack is configured to facilitate connection via adhesive to a plurality of battery cells. The clamshell plate includes: an exterior surface; a recess within the clamshell plate for accommodating a battery cell therein; a channel extending around at least a portion of an inner diameter of the recess in which adhesive can be accommodated to secure the clamshell plate to the battery cell; a manifold opening into the channel; and a vent hole from the channel to the exterior surface of the clamshell plate. A battery pack and a method can employ the clamshell plate.

    Abstract: A decorative fastener for use upon an item to be worn by the user; the item to be worn may be a shoe, an item of clothing (including shirts, hats and caps, or the like), or even a pet collar. The fastener features two parts that may be connected together on opposite sides of the item to be worn, with the item situated between the bottom part and the top part. The fastener also includes an ornament portion attachable temporarily to one side of the top part, there being decoration of any desired type or appearance on the ornament portion. Assortments of different ornament portions are interchangeable for temporary attachment to the top part. A variety of decorations accordingly may selectively be used in combination with the shoe or other item.
