    Abstract: A Universal Serial Bus (USB) power delivery system is provided that includes a first USB Type-C connector with a first converter circuitry and a second USB Type-C connector with a second converter circuitry. The first USB Type-C connector includes a first controller having a first electrical interface configured to electrically couple to a CC wire of the first USB Type-C connector, and to send/receive data via the first electrical interface and a first bi-directional voltage converter. The second converter circuitry includes a second controller having a second electrical interface configured to electrically couple to a CC wire of the second USB Type-C connector, and to send/receive data via the second electrical interface. A second bi-directional voltage converter includes an input and output, the second voltage converter receiving the second voltage at the input and outputting a third voltage at the output, thereby allowing power to flow in two directions.

    Abstract: A method of operating a lock from a portable remote device includes sending a radio frequency identification signal from the portable remote device to a controller for the lock, and receiving the radio frequency identification signal at the lock controller and identifying the remote device as an authorized user of the lock. The method then includes sending a sound frequency identification signal from the portable remote device to the lock controller, receiving the sound frequency identification signal at the lock controller and identifying the remote device as an authorized user of the lock. The method further includes authorizing operation of the lock in accordance with the radio or sound frequency identification signal from the portable remote device. A system for practicing the method includes a lock controller capable of receiving a radio frequency identification signal and a sound frequency identification signal from the portable remote device.

    Abstract: A vertical door locking system includes a sliding latch mounted to a door that opens vertically, such as a garage door or corrugated self-storage door, and an electrically operated solenoid mounted at a fixed location on a guide rail for the door or the door frame. The latch includes a latchbolt that extends outward from the door to prevent the door from being raised vertically and the latchbolt has an opening at one end. The solenoid includes a spring operated solenoid rod that extends into the opening in the latchbolt to prevent the latchbolt from being retracted thereby preventing the door from being opened unless the solenoid is electrically operated to disengage the solenoid rod and release the latchbolt.
