  • Patent number: 11540439
Abstract: A lawn mower includes a seat plate movably coupled to the frame. An operator seat is coupled to the seat plate. An armrest is laterally spaced from the operator seat and includes an elongated support, an arm support surface, and a control panel. The elongated support has a first end fixed to the seat plate and a second end. The arm support surface is coupled to the second end and can support a user's arm. The control panel is positioned between the arm support surface and the second end of the elongated support. The control panel is fixed to the elongated support for movement with the seat plate such that the control panel remains stationary relative to the seat plate. The control panel includes an actuator to control a function of the lawn mower. The actuator is configured to be actuated while the user's arm is on the support surface.

  • Publication number: 20120199076
Abstract: An automated feeding station for in-home testing away from unfamiliar laboratory settings test the acceptance of pet food by monitoring the reaction of the companion animals or pets in their comfortable in-home environment where the animals make their preferred choice of food without distractions caused by an unfamiliar environment. A pet owner scans appropriate food identifiers to verify the proper diet is being distributed into the appropriate food-receiving region(s). Once the food bowls are placed in appropriate food receiving regions within the feeding station, the testing system begins collecting data and transmits this data, preferably wirelessly, to the testing investigators. The preferred feeding station can measure: intake for the companion animal, information pertaining to the rate of food consumption, the animal's first approach to food, and the food first tasted by the animal. This information is provided via appropriate sensors and algorithms designed for this purpose within the system.

  • Publication number: 20070042233
Abstract: Fuel cell systems that provide backup, or auxiliary, power to one or more energy-consuming devices normally powered by a primary power source (PPS). Operating methods and controllers for auxiliary fuel cell systems and/or for power systems that include a PPS and an auxiliary power source in the form of an auxiliary fuel cell system (AFCS) are also disclosed. In some embodiments, the fuel cell system includes, or is in communication with, a controller that selectively initiates the production of an electric current by the AFCS responsive to a triggering event. An illustrative triggering event includes a predetermined voltage drop across a diode or similar current-regulating, or flow-regulating, device that is electrically between the AFCS and the energy-consuming device(s) and/or the PPS. Another illustrative triggering event includes the voltage (or state of charge or readiness to satisfy an applied load) of a battery or other energy-storage device associated with the AFCS.

  • Patent number: 5193700
Abstract: An improved container storing, shipping and handling rolling and shifting cargo is disclosed. Preferably, the container includes a base and a dome-like lid attachable to it. The base is formed with plural linear extending recesses having plural holes arranged in an array for receiving corresponding projections of plural chocks. Each chock has a chock base from which extend plural spaced projections for mating with the container's base. Each chock also includes a first working expanse extending upwardly at an oblique angle for restraining rolling cargo, a second working expanse extending vertically for restraining shifting cargo, and a third working expanse extending upwardly at an oblique angle different from that of the first working surface, the chock base and the working expanses forming a framing border structure defining the chock's open interior region.
