  • Publication number: 20220250180
Abstract: A power tool for forming threads includes a tool housing with a motor housing portion having a first handle, a battery receptacle configured to receive a battery, a motor housing portion with a motor, a transmission housing portion with a transmission, and an operating head portion arranged along a tool axis. A cutting head is at least partially received in the operating head portion and rotates about a rotational axis transverse to the tool axis to form threads in a workpiece. A second handle is coupled to the operating head or the tool housing adjacent the operating head. When power is applied to the motor, the motor rotates and the transmission transmits torque from the motor to rotate the cutting head. A center of gravity of the power tool is positioned at a portion of the tool housing substantially aligned with the second handle.

  • Patent number: 11344961
Abstract: A modification system for the modification of elongated pieces of stock may include a powered tool for modifying, or altering the piece of elongated stock, and a support device for supporting a position of the elongated stock relative to the powered tool. An arrangement of the components of the powered tool may provide for ergonomic balance of the powered tool. The support device may include a clamping device that clamps, or holds the elongated stock, and an adjustment device that adjusts a position of the clamping device based on a size of the elongated stock. The support device may include a latching device that maintains the position of the clamping device relative to the stock. A reaction arm may inhibit rotation of the tool relative to the stock during operation. A biasing device may provide for application of an axial biasing force on the stock, to initiate operation.

  • Patent number: 11338426
Abstract: The cordless power cutter that is lightweight and weight-balanced between a power section housing a battery pack as a power source and a cutting section including a motor in a belt-free drive system and rotatable disk blade. The weight balancing of the cordless power cutter allows the tool to remain parallel to a horizontal surface, such as the ground, without tilting, when the operator lifts and holds the tool by only a gripping or transverse portion of the lifting handle. The motor has a motor axis that is not perpendicular to the disk axis and that is rearward of the disk axis to provide a depth of cut. The weight-balance and motor positioning allows the cordless power cutter to achieve ease of handling and operation.

  • Patent number: 10888936
Abstract: A cutting tool includes a housing, a head assembly disposed on the housing and carrying a first blade. A cam drive mechanism is disposed within the housing. The cam drive mechanism carries a second blade opposed to the first blade. A motor drives the cam drive mechanism. A battery pack is electrically connected to the motor. The cam drive mechanism moves the second blade towards the first blade, so that a wire disposed between the first and second blades receives a cutting force of less than 12 kiloNewton. The cam drive mechanism may include a spindle driven by the motor, a radial cam fixed to the spindle, a roller assembly contacting the radial cam, and a shuttle connected to the roller assembly, the shuttle being movable in a reciprocating motion and carrying the second blade.

  • Publication number: 20200350952
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for creating antenna casings, such as radomes, that can reshape the distribution of electromagnetic energy emitted by an antenna into an arbitrarily defined pattern. Embodiments of the present disclosure include antenna casings with cylindrical patterns with only azimuthal variation and antenna casings with spherical patterns having both azimuthal and elevation variations, each accomplished with an antenna casing of a fixed radial distance in the given coordinate system (either cylindrical or spherical). Antenna casings provided by embodiments of the present disclosure can alter the source radiation pattern into any desired radiation pattern at any distance.
