The plastic front includes an edge border that is reinforced to support the weight of the saw blade and that may extend over the edge of the paperboard back for the periphery thereof. The plastic front includes a pocket for receiving the blade where the pocket is provided with projections for engaging the blade to keep the blade from moving once inside the package. A peg is also provided in the plastic cover that engages a portion of the saw blade to ensure that the saw blade is properly oriented in the package during the packaging process.
