  • Publication number: 20210370192
Abstract: A hand gesture controlled flying toy can utilize one or more infrared sensors and/or pressure sensors to determine how a user is interacting with the flying toy and conduct aerial maneuvers based on those interactions. The flying toy may be configured to ascend when lateral infrared sensors detect reflections of infrared light in multiple lateral directions. The flying toy may be configured to ascend when a pressure sensor detects a pressure increase from below the flying toy. The flying toy may be configured to conduct a roll responsive to an upward infrared sensor and a lateral infrared sensor detecting reflections of infrared light. The roll may be oriented at least partially based on which lateral infrared sensor detected a reflection.

  • Publication number: 20180207540
Abstract: An optical-based aerial gaming system comprises: a multirotor unmanned flying device comprising: a main body; a plurality of propulsion units, a wireless receiver configured to receive data via radio communication; a wireless transmitter configured to send data via radio communication; one or more light generators configured to project laser or infrared light from the unmanned flying device; and one or more light sensors configured to detect laser or infrared light projected by a separate unmanned flying device; and a remote control unit comprising: a wireless transmitter configured to send data via radio communication; and a wireless receiver configured to receive data via radio communication, wherein the unmanned flying device is configured to transmit to the remote control unit, using the wireless transmitter of the unmanned flying device, at least a portion of encoded data of the detected laser or infrared light.

  • Publication number: 20180095492
Abstract: A dual-mode joystick of a remote control unit can control an unmanned flying device in a selectable center-sprung or non-sprung mode. In the center-sprung mode, the joystick can be spring-biased in equilibrium at the centered position. The joystick is not spring-biased in equilibrium at the centered position in the non-sprung mode. In addition, a friction force can be used in the non-sprung mode to hold the joystick in a stationary rotational position until an external force is applied to overcome the friction force.

  • Publication number: 20150120674
Abstract: The description is directed to systems and methods for restoring a program state retained from a prior execution session on a virtual machine. On receiving a request to execute a program an image of user-independent files are mounted to a virtual machine. Specified user-modifiable files are copied from a particular user storage location to put the program in a condition to execute the program so that it begins from the previously-existing program state. During the session at least some of the files are modified and on a session end the user-modifiable files are saved to the particular user storage location to retain the updated program state.
