    Abstract: In a plunger apparatus for exerting a spring-loaded force on a work piece, a plug, whose depth of insertion determines the amount of the force exerted by the spring, is pressed into the body of the apparatus and, by the friction between the plug and the inner surface of the body, is held immobile to torque applied to the plug in installing and removing the apparatus from a machine and to forces experienced in operations.
