  • Patent number: 7974946
Abstract: A system and method for maintaining data synchronization across a plurality of user devices is provided. The system and method manage data synchronization among a plurality of data storage devices includes a mobile personal information system adapted interface with a number of data storage devices. A personal information system supports multiple data synchronization protocols so that the personal information system may synchronize data with a wide range of different data storage devices. A synchronization arbitrator is associated with the personal information system. The synchronization arbitrator is adapted to register all of a user's personal devices which store the user's personal information. The synchronization arbitrator also initiates a data synchronization function with each registered data storage device, employing the synchronization protocol appropriate for each device. The personal information management system may comprise a vehicular mounted personal data storage system.

  • Patent number: 7334726
Abstract: A personal information management system stores associations between a user and the user's mobile hand held electronic and communication devices. The system receives input indicating the presence of the user and bonds with the mobile hand held devices associated with the identified user to the exclusion of other devices. Once the system has bonded to the user's mobile hand held devices, the user may access data stored on and control functions of the various hand held devices through a single common interface, the system may be used to place and receive cellular telephone calls, send and receive text messages, and record and play back audio messages.

  • Publication number: 20070294710
Abstract: A software tool and method implementing an application program interface (API) for adding Bluetooth wireless functionality to a user interface module are provided. The A software development kit (SDK) provides a layered framework that defines a plurality of interacting software layers for communicating data and commands between a user interface module and a Bluetooth communications stack. The SDK includes a number of pre-coded API function modules for implementing various interface functions. A plurality of pre-coded Bluetooth function mapping instruction sets are provided for mapping function calls from the API function modules to the Bluetooth communications stack. The layered framework may include an API layer; a Bluetooth adaption layer, a PIM module or PIM adaption layer, and a voice recognition/text-to-speech module. The API function modules are identified and exposed in a Bluetooth API layer according to a simplified command syntax associated with the SDK.

  • Publication number: 20040098333
Abstract: The invention is an administrative support system and method (collectively “system”) for a seller using an online auction site. The system can allow sellers to generate and transmit auction related communications in an automated fashion, consistent with highly configurable predefined business rules. Such communications can be created from highly configurable predefined and reusable templates. Various highly configurable process checklists can be guide the automated transactions of the system. Redundant and manual activities can be minimized by maximizing the ability to capture and store information already entered by the seller or buyer. The system can interact with an online payment service to facilitate the collection of payment by the seller. Other forms of online services, such as shipment tracking, can also be integrated into the system.
