  • Publication number: 20240147413
Abstract: Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for providing service to access nodes are presented. In some embodiments, a computing device may generate a geographical coverage map comprising a plurality of wireless access nodes respectively at a plurality of geographic locations and a wireless coverage range for each wireless access node. The computing device may receive from at least one wireless access node of the plurality of wireless access nodes an indication that the at least one wireless access node detected a first wireless access node of the plurality of wireless access nodes. The computing device may refine a first coverage range of the first wireless access node based on a respective geographic location of the at least one wireless access node. In some embodiments, a first wireless access node may receive and forward join emergency mesh (JEM) messages to establish a wireless network.

  • Patent number: 11594886
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for leveraging user premises supplied electric power to power active components in an information delivery network. In response to one or more conditions, an active component may switch an input power path from using grid-supplied or battery power to draw power from a user premises. The decision to switch the power path may be based on a number of conditions, for example, whether power is available from the grid, the relative cost of power from the user premises and whether the power from the user premises includes power from a renewable source.

  • Patent number: 11439275
Abstract: A charcoal-fueled barbecue grill and smoker includes a duct system with “volcanoes” on the inside of the lower grill chamber that match holes in a tube fitted to the lower grill chamber, such that a turning of the tube provides precise venting and temperature control during cooking. A rear stabilizer attached to the lower grill chamber allows the grill to be used either with or without a stand, preventing the grill from toppling over when the lid is opened. The grill may include one or more removable shelves. An ash evacuation system includes a frusto-conical ash bucket that attaches at a hole in the lower grill chamber and held in place by the rear stabilizer using an ash bucket hanger.

  • Patent number: 10893467
Abstract: A home automation (HA) system may include addressable HA devices and an HA interface device that includes a housing, a display, and an audio input device carried by the housing. The HA interface device may also include a controller carried by the housing to store HA device signatures of the addressable HA devices and determine an unpaired addressable HA device and compare the associated HA device signature of the unpaired addressable HA device with the stored HA device signatures. The controller may also, when there is a match between the HA device signature of the unpaired addressable HA device and one of the stored HA device signatures, permit pairing of the unpaired addressable HA device to communicate with the unpaired addressable HA device using a respective wireless communications protocol, and selectively operate paired addressable HA devices based upon voice commands received via the audio input device.

  • Patent number: 10805106
Abstract: A home automation (HA) system may include first and second HA operation devices within a structure. The second HA operation device may be switchable among sleep, awake, and operational modes. The second HA device may have a longer latency when switched between the sleep and awake modes than when switched between the awake and operational modes. An HA user interface device for a respective user may be within the structure and be configured to wirelessly communicate with the first and second HA operation devices to perform an HA operation. An HA hub device may be within the structure to provide communications for the HA user interface device and the first and second HA operation devices. The HA hub device may be configured to, when the first HA operation device is operated, switch the second HA operation device between the sleep and awake modes.

  • Patent number: 10623506
Abstract: A user input indicating that an email account is to be added is detected. Search logic is controlled to automatically search for any preexisting email accounts corresponding to the user, and the configuration information corresponding to any preexisting accounts is obtained. A set of configuration information for the email account to be added is predicted, based upon the configuration information obtained from any preexisting accounts, and an email account is added, using the predicted configuration information.

  • Patent number: 10585788
Abstract: A client computing system detects when a problem is encountered with an application and identified problem-specific diagnostic data that is to be collected, given the detected problem. It also identifies one or more problem-specific test or diagnostic analyzers and executes those analyzers to generate additional data. The data that is collected and the data that is generated by the analyzers is packaged and sent to a service computing system for identifying a remedial action that can be performed to address the problem. The remedial action is received and surfaced for the user.

  • Patent number: 10581630
Abstract: A home automation (HA) system may include HA operation devices within a structure and HA user interface devices. Each HA user interface device may wirelessly communicate with the HA operation devices to perform at least one HA operation. A wireless access point may be within the structure. HA hub devices within the structure may provide communications for the HA user interface and operation devices. Each HA hub device may include client and back-up access point wireless communications circuitry, and an HA hub device controller cooperating to establish a first wireless communications link between the client wireless communications circuitry and the wireless access point. Each HA hub controller may autonomously determine when the first wireless communications link fails, and, responsive thereto, establish a second wireless communications link between the client wireless communications circuitry of the HA hub device and the back-up access point wireless communications circuitry of another HA hub device.
