  • Patent number: 12648867
Abstract: The present invention involves a garment for enveloping at least in part a joint, for example a knee of a leg. Comprising a belt disposed to fit about a body part, for example the waist, of the user, a plurality of inextensible web portions and a tension member are disposed longitudinally along a corresponding predetermined curved three-dimensional spatial path within or on a matrix of a garment fabric along the leg. The path spatially relates the first tension member to at least one natural ligament of the knee, at least one of the plurality of inextensible web portions being disposed to apply pressure to the medial side of the knee. The tension member is anchored by the triceps surae of the leg and to the belt via a tensioner. A second tension member may be incorporated in the garment leg to apply pressure to the lateral side of the knee.

  • Patent number: 12629273
Abstract: A garment of the present invention comprises a closed tensionable loop for stabilizing a human knee. The loop is arranged to freely move along a conduit within the garment and is provided with a tensioner. The conduit crosses over itself between the lateral and a medial side on the anterior of the leg at least one of above and below the knee to provide compression on the ligaments of the knee when the loop is tensioned. The conduit circles the lower leg at a distal region of the triceps surae, thereby providing an anchor to the lower leg. An anchor is provided at or above the thigh. A method for stabilizing the knee using the tensionable loop involves positioning the garment so as to ensure that the conduit follows a predetermined path on the leg that places the loop over at least one of the two collateral ligaments of the knee and the tensioner is operated to adjust the compression on the ligaments.

  • Publication number: 20240119389
Abstract: A method of administering a survey includes collecting response data from an introductory question set selected from the questions of the survey. The method calculates disposition probabilities based on the response data and a probability difference between two of the disposition probabilities. The method ends the survey based on a comparison between the probability difference and a probability difference threshold criterion.

  • Publication number: 20060116131
Abstract: A wireless communication device (102) including a satellite positioning system (SPS) receiver (104), and a wireless transceiver (106) communicably coupled to the satellite positioning system receiver. The wireless transceiver for receiving satellite positioning system assistance information, for example, SPS reference time, from a wireless communication network, and for transmitting integrity information, for example, SPS reference time offset, for the satellite positioning system assistance information received.

  • Publication number: 20060099970
Abstract: A method and system of providing a log of mobile station geographic location requests is useful for protecting the privacy of mobile station users. The method is performed on a mobile station and includes receiving in the mobile station a location request from a requestor, the location request seeking the geographic location of the mobile station. It is then determined whether the location request is a Mobile Terminated Location Request (MTLR), a Network Initiated Location Request (NILR), or a Mobile Originated Location Request (MOLR). Log information about the location request is then stored and it is determined whether the mobile station has local privacy settings that apply uniquely to the requestor. The location request is then responded to in accordance with local privacy settings, and log information about the response to the location request is stored.

  • Publication number: 20060016940
Abstract: A mounting apparatus and method for directing an instrument are disclosed. The apparatus has at least a first support which has an arched surface. The first support is hinged to a vehicle to move about a first axis. An instrument mount is secured to the first arched surface of the first support to be positionable at a plurality of points along the arch. A second support may also be provided and is hinged to the vehicle to move about a second axis. The instrument mount may also be secured to the second arched surface of the second support to be positionable at a plurality of points along the second arched surface. The positioning of the instrument mount along the one or more arches directs an instrument secured to the mount.
