  • Publication number: 20160251122
Abstract: Methods, systems, caps, containers, and assemblies for a gecko-like container capping system are described. A gecko-like cap configured to cover an opening in a container may include an inner surface configured to mate with an opening surface of a container. Setae may be located on a surface of the cap and/or a surface of the container that are configured to oppose movement of the cap away from the container by creating an adhesion force between the inner surface and the opening surface. The cap may include one or more release mechanisms configured to deflect the inner surface away from the opening surface, thereby reducing the adhesion force such that the cap is removable from the container.

  • Publication number: 20140089074
Abstract: Methods and systems for determining a recycling credit are disclosed. A total recycling credit for a recycled material may be provided. A manufacturer percentage of the recycled material for a manufacturer may also be provided. The manufacturer percentage may be a percentage of the recycled material associated with the manufacturer. A processing device may determine a raw recycling credit to the manufacturer by multiplying the total recycling credit and the manufacturer percentage. The processing device may further determine a recycling credit to provide to the manufacturer by adjusting the raw recycling credit with a manufacturer green credit determined based on a manufacturer's environmental behavior.

  • Publication number: 20140081877
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing an energy credit for a material are disclosed. A material may be provided. A total carbon content in the material is determined to provide a total carbon count. The total carbon count is associated with an intrinsic energy score for the material that is based on the total carbon count. An acquired character energy score based on an environmental cost of an acquired character of the material is determined. An energy credit for the material is determined based on the intrinsic energy score and the acquired character energy score.
