  • Publication number: 20240424605
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting a sheet of aerosol-generating material includes a laser generator configured such that a laser emitted by the laser generator cuts the sheet as the sheet of aerosol-generating material is conveyed along a conveyance path. An apparatus for manufacturing a sheet of aerosol-generating material including the apparatus for cutting a sheet of aerosol-generating material is also disclosed. Also disclosed is a consumable having a sheet of aerosol-generating material formed into a wrapped rod and having a distal end for insertion into an aerosol generating device including a heating element that is received within the aerosol-generating material at the distal end of the rod. A portion of the sheet of aerosol generating material at the distal end of the rod is cut into strips extending from said distal end of the wrapped rod.

  • Publication number: 20240381924
Abstract: The present invention relates to an article for use in a non-combustible aerosol provision system, an apparatus for manufacturing an article for use in a non-combustible aerosol provision system, and a method of manufacturing an article for use in a non-combustible aerosol provision system. The article comprises an aerosol-generating material segment (20) and a susceptor (25) located therein, wherein first and second ends (26, 27) of the susceptor are located within about 5 mm of the first and second ends of the aerosol-generating material segment, respectively. The method of manufacturing the article comprises: feeding an aerosol-generating material along a feed path; inserting a susceptor into the feed path; gathering the aerosol-generating material around a susceptor to create a rod; and cutting the rod into a segment comprising a susceptor.

  • Patent number: 8627956
Abstract: A screwstrip is disclosed including angled slots which allow a driver of an automated screwdriver to advance the screwstrip. The slots include a leading edge, which may be perpendicular to the line of travel of the screwstrip, and a trailing edge provided at an oblique angle with respect to the line of travel of the screwstrip. A slot including an angled sidewall is more forgiving and prevents misalignment of the driver with the slots.
