Abstract: A laryngoscope assembly including a blade having a distal part extending to the distal end and including a first surface, wherein the distal part is adapted to be inserted into a patient's oral cavity with the first surface facing the patient's tongue. The laryngoscope assembly further includes a control unit including a body portion having a first body portion and a second body portion, the first body portion being couplable to the blade. The control unit and the blade, when being coupled, collectively form a laryngoscope. The control unit being adapted to receive image data from an image sensor as the image data is being generated by the image sensor, wherein, at least when the control unit is coupled to the blade, the image data is indicative of a view from the distal part of the blade in a direction at least partly towards the distal end.
