  • Publication number: 20230224223
Abstract: Discussed herein are techniques that utilize hierarchical locality information of host machines included in a cluster network for the execution of general workloads. Hierarchical locality information for each host machine of a plurality of host machines is stored. The hierarchical locality information for a host machine identifying, for each locality of a plurality of localities, location information for the locality. Responsive to receiving a request requesting execution of a workload, the hierarchical locality information for the plurality of host machines is obtained and provided (e.g., to a customer) in response to the request.

  • Patent number: 9959493
Abstract: Methods for authenticating printer supply items using revocation lists are disclosed. Revocation lists are updated using DNSSEC to communicate between a printer and a DNS name server. A first domain name is created containing a request for a challenge to an authentication module and sent to the DNS name server. A second domain name is created containing a response to the challenge and sent to the DNS name server. The DNS name server indicates success or failure, which is used to authenticate the printer supply item. Other systems and methods are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9756014
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention describes a wireless device comprising a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) further comprising a memory for storing program code for performing a plurality of operations, and a processor for processing the program code to execute the plurality of operations, the operations including receiving over-the-air instructions via a wireless network from a control center to create a rules set in the SIM, wherein the rules set defines an acceptable behavior of the wireless device, monitoring requests from a wireless modem of the wireless device for access files stored in the SIM, detecting an aggressive behavior of the wireless device based on the rules set, and blocking the wireless modem from generating traffic in the wireless network.

  • Patent number: 9615035
Abstract: A specialized multi-smartphone rig is configured to simultaneously hold and operate multiple camera-equipped smartphones to enable capture of the same image by each camera under identical conditions using a single shutter release button on the rig. Because smartphones typically vary in how much time they use to process user input, custom native applications (“apps”) are installed on each smartphone to enable the cameras to operate in a synchronized manner. When the button is actuated, a signal is received at a microcontroller which hosts a server. The shutter release signal is passed to the server which, in turn, sends individual control signals to the custom native apps according to a timing model. When the custom native apps receive their respective control signals, they trigger their respective smartphone cameras to operate so that all the photos are captured in parallel across the rig at the same time.
