  • Patent number: 11435332
Abstract: A method for reducing sensor noise in an automobile vehicle NOx sensor offset diagnostic includes: connecting an exhaust system to an engine of an automobile vehicle; sensing a condition of the exhaust system using at least one NOx sensor; identifying when the at least one NOx sensor is at a low noise condition; and running a diagnostic to identify conditions of the at least one NOx sensor. The method further includes selecting one of the low noise condition as the engine in an after-run condition or as the engine in an engine idle condition.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 25, 2020
Date of Patent: September 6, 2022
Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLC

  • Patent number: 8245591
Abstract: A scissor gear assembly may include first and second gears, a friction plate, and a biasing member. The first gear may have a first number (n) of gear teeth extending from a perimeter thereof. The second gear may have a second number (m) of gear teeth extending from a perimeter thereof and may be concentrically mounted relative to the first gear and rotatable relative to the first gear. The second number (m) of gear teeth may be greater than the first number (n) of gear teeth. The friction plate may be rotationally fixed relative to the first gear. The biasing member may have a first end axially fixed relative to the first gear and a second end axially biasing the second gear and the friction plate into engagement with one another.
    Type: Grant
