  • Patent number: 10655097
Abstract: A cell culture bag is provided, comprising a framed porous inner fluoropolymer bag that allows for growing and harvesting cells and an outer fluoropolymer bag that allows removal and replenishing feed media without loss of cells. In one embodiment, a bag comprising an outer bag and an inner bag is presented. The outer bag comprises a gas permeable porous film having a first port and a second port attached thereto and the inner bag comprises a gas permeable porous film having a third port attached thereto that passes through the outer bag to the inner bag. The inner bag has larger pore size than the outer bag to allow movement of media between the outer bag and the inner bag.

  • Patent number: 10308010
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for enhanced dryers for printing systems. One embodiment is an apparatus that includes a dryer for a continuous-forms printing system. The dryer includes heating elements located within an interior of the dryer that radiate infrared energy onto a web of printed media as the web travels through the interior, and an air knife that is interposed between the heating elements. The air knife includes a shell that directly absorbs infrared energy from the heating elements and also defines a passage for air to travel through the air knife onto the web. The shell directly absorbs infrared energy from each heating element that would otherwise overlap on the web with infrared energy from another heating element.

  • Patent number: 10071549
Abstract: Systems and methods for printhead position control. The system comprises a controller that identifies a target distance for moving a printhead in a lateral direction to compensate for lateral shifts in a web of print media as the web travels in a continuous-forms printer in a conveyance direction. The controller also identifies a maximum distance for moving the printhead in the lateral direction based on an allowable print error in a color plane of the printer and one or more previous positions of the printhead. The control further moves the printhead for a distance that is a lesser of the maximum distance and the target distance.

  • Patent number: 10065433
Abstract: Systems and methods for concentric arrangement of web conditioning modules in a dryer of a printing system. In one embodiment a dryer includes a drum, first rollers positioned in an arc around the drum to define a web path between an entrance of the dryer and the drum, and second rollers positioned along the arc between the first rollers and the drum that reverse the web path between the drum and an exit of the dryer. The dryer further includes first web conditioners positioned along the arc and beyond the first rollers from the drum that direct energy toward a portion of the web path that is between the entrance of the dryer and the drum. The dryer further includes second web conditioners positioned along the arc between the second rollers and the drum that direct energy toward a portion of the web path that wraps around the drum.

  • Patent number: 9827797
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide rollers that cool a print medium downstream of a dryer while minimizing the temperature differentials across the print medium. In some embodiments, air is directed through the interiors of different rollers in opposing directions based on a pattern to reduce the temperature differential across a width of the print medium. In other embodiments, a controller alternates a direction of the air through the interior of a roller to reduce the temperature differential across the width of the print medium.
