  • Publication number: 20220288500
Abstract: A radio controlled model vehicle system, transmitter, and method are provided. The radio controlled model vehicle system includes a transmitter containing a transbrake actuator and a throttle input producing throttle commands. The radio controlled model vehicle may include a receiver that receives the throttle commands sent by the transmitter. Wherein the transmitter sends the throttle command corresponding to a position of the throttle input to the receiver when the transbrake actuator is not engaged and sends a throttle command corresponding to a neutral position of the throttle input when the transbrake actuator is engaged. In addition, wherein a motor of the radio controlled model vehicle is powered at a rate corresponding to the throttle command.

  • Patent number: 11309724
Abstract: An improved electrical connector for electrically connecting a rechargeable battery with an electrically powered device as well as methods of operation for use of an electrically powered device comprising the improved connector are provided. The connector may comprise one or more features including: integration of both first terminals for transmitting charging or discharging signals to and from the battery as well as one or more signal terminals for transmitting one or more balancing signals to and from the battery; implementation of communication means allowing for one or more signals comprising battery specific information to be received by the electrically powered device upon making an electrical connection with the battery; and, one or more safety features for preventing unsupported electrical connections between incompatible connector configurations.

  • Publication number: 20210291068
Abstract: A method of determining a state of a model vehicle using an electric motor is provided. During a sample period, the method may include measuring raw variables, including determining a first and a second voltage relative to a battery ground. Further, the method may include extracting state variables from the first and second voltages. The measuring of the raw variables may be repeated until the end of the sample period. The method may also include determining a tentative state from the state variables. Still further, the method may include setting a model vehicle state equal to a tentative state if the tentative state is equal to a previous tentative state. Still further including actuating a model vehicle component based upon the model vehicle state and setting the previous tentative state equal to the tentative state. Additionally, the method may include repeating the process for another sample period.

  • Patent number: 11110873
Abstract: An auxiliary Battery Eliminator Circuit (BEC) and method are provided. The auxiliary BEC may include a receiver plug-in port with a low voltage power and ground connection and a receiver communication connection and an electronic speed control plug-in port comprising a low voltage power and ground connection and an electronic speed control communication connection. In addition the auxiliary BEC may include a battery pre-wire connection for electrically coupling to a high voltage positive terminal of a high voltage battery. Wherein the auxiliary BEC passes through communication signals between a receiver and the electronic speed control via the receiver communication connection and the electronic speed control communication connection. Wherein the auxiliary BEC provides converted high voltage power from the high voltage battery for the receiver and herein the auxiliary BEC powers on and off corresponding to input from the low voltage power and ground connection of the electronic speed control.
