  • Patent number: 7326069
Abstract: A grounding clip system is provided. This system includes a length of electrical wire; a connecting element, wherein the connecting element further includes: first and second side portions; and an area in each side portion adapted to receive the electrical wire and make electrical contact therewith; and a shuttle slidably attached to the connecting element. The shuttle is variably positionable on the connecting element in open and closed positions. The shuttle further includes a channel formed widthwise therein for receiving the electrical wire, and the channel further includes at least two slots formed therein for engaging the first and second side portions of the connecting element. Placing the length of electrical wire in the channel in the body and sliding the shuttle from the opened position to the closed position inserts the length of wire into the connecting element and makes electrical contact therewith.

  • Patent number: 7175469
Abstract: A connector having a contact including a dual-tabbed wire trap is disclosed. The wire trap includes a first wire retention tab and a second wire retention tab, wherein the wire retention tabs are biased toward one another at an angle to form a wire guide. The wire guide is configured to contact and receive a wire inserted into the wire trap. When the wire is inserted, the first and second wire retention tabs impart a clamping force to retain the wire in the wire trap and prevent its removal. According to one embodiment, the connector is a photoelectric connector for attaching a street lamp or other electrical device to a photoelectric cell.

  • Patent number: 5967810
Abstract: Disclosed is a device for release of the restrained link arm in a memory card connector. In this device a longitudinally directed force which may result, for example, from the activation of an electrical current in a memory wire causes a rearward edge on a timing bar to separate the link arm from the eject plate to allow the link arm to move to a forward position to eject the card.

  • Patent number: 5890920
Abstract: Disclosed is a closure device which projects from the side elements of the frame of a memory card connector to provide security for the memory card. The activation of the closure means is coordinated with the movement of the card eject plate so that after the card is inserted the connector cannot readily be tampered with to remove the card.

  • Patent number: 5863212
Abstract: A connector apparatus for receiving a card-like data processing medium in a frame element having a rear transverse element and a pair of longitudinal elements. A header is disposed adjacent the rear element of the frame member and an actuator bar for moving the card-like data processing medium out of engagement with the header is provided. An eject plate is moved by a link arm connected to the frame at a pivot point. The actuator bar is positioned below or above one of the longitudinal elements of the frame to significantly reduce the transverse dimension of the connector.

  • Patent number: 5597316
Abstract: Disclosed is a connector from a memory card in which the eject plate bears on the link arm at a first contact position during insertion. During ejectment a separate contact position is engaged. The distance between the first contact position used during insertion and the pivot point of the link arm is greater than the distance between the second contact position and the pivot point of the link arm by a factor of between 3:1 to 6:1. A significant mechanical advantage is therefore realized so that the card may be inserted with little resistance force while ample ejecting force is available.

  • Patent number: 5573413
Abstract: Disclosed is a trigger device for release of the restrained link arm in a memory card connector. In this device a longitudinally directed force which may result, for example, from the activation of an electrical current in a memory wire causes a rotational force transfer device to withdraw a pin from the link arm so that the link arm moves out of its restrained position in response to a longitudinal force provided by a spring connected to the link arm.

  • Patent number: 5489039
Abstract: An enclosure (10) for terminal blocks for connection of telephone service cables to others thereof or to a distribution cable (16) providing for mounting therewithin of different types of terminal block. A lid (12) is pivotable from a closed position to a first fully open position where it retains itself open, and may be further pivotable beyond the first open position to a second fully open position where it similarly retains itself open. At least two tab sections (80) of the lid's rear wall (40) have free ends (82) that abut the enclosure's rear wall when the lid is pivoted open. Corners (84, 85) of the tab free ends (82) compressively bear against the enclosure's rear wall and serve as detents to inhibit unintentional lid rotation out of either fully open position.
