Button panels include a flexible cable, surface mount or other cable connectors spaced along and coupled thereto, and button assemblies coupled thereto via the cable connectors to provide electrical access from buttons to circuit lines. Relative physical locations of buttons are then reconfigurable to form different button panel configurations while the buttons remain coupled to the flexible cable. A dedicated dynamic button panel controller for processing button functions and a button panel identification device having an identification code can also be provided. Buttons can be removably coupled to the cable connectors, and can also include dynamic displays thereupon. Other gaming machine dynamic displays can also be provided.

A gaming apparatus includes a main processor board, a CPU operable to execute a game of chance, a motion generating device, a first memory configured to store at least one first motion control profile that describes movement of the motion generating device, a motion control board coupled to the main processor board by an interface bus, the motion control board including a second memory configured to store at least one second motion control profile, and transfer logic configured to: receive the at least one first motion control profile via the bus in response to a gaming event, generate the at least one second motion control profile based upon the at least one first motion control profile, and store the at least one second motion control profile in the second memory; and motion control logic configured to cause the motion generating device to move in accordance with the at least one second motion control profile.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing customized content on a gaming machine configured to generate wager-based games are described. In particular, methods and apparatus are described in which a secondary interface board, coupled to a master gaming controller and one or more communication paths associated with a slot machine interface board, performs various functions. The secondary interface board may be used to extract event information from the one or more communication paths that are used. The event information may be used to effect an operation on the gaming machine. Further, in various embodiments, the SIB may emulate device communications on the one or more communications paths, control devices and communicate with remote devices.
