  • Patent number: 11617544
Abstract: Medical devices and methods thereof for determining bacterial infections in blood. The medical devices and methods thereof can utilize a coating including an antibody conjugated to a reporter protein configured to indicate a bacterial infection in a patient's blood by way of an antigen thereof. Exemplary medical devices include, but are not limited to, a catheter assembly, an AV fistula needle set, an extension set for either a catheter assembly or an AV fistula needle set, and a hemodialysis tubing set. The medical devices and methods thereof can utilize immunochromatographic separation of the antibody and an antigen-antibody complex to indicate a bacterial infection in a patient's blood.

  • Patent number: 11549256
Abstract: An apparatus and method for sealing a grout space provided between a backing wall and a veneer layer. The grout space sealing apparatus includes a deflector that is installed at an intersection of a backing wall and a horizontal surface and a sealing member that is positionable over the deflector and extends onto the backing wall above the deflector and/or across the horizontal surface in front of the deflector. The grout space sealing apparatus causes water that has permeated the exterior veneer to run down an exterior surface of the sealing member. The water is directed along the exterior surface of the sealing member away from the backing wall and towards weep holes provided in the veneer.

  • Publication number: 20210157384
Abstract: Example implementations relate to assigning power sources. An example system includes a network device and a computing device with a BIOS. The BIOS provides the network device a heartbeat in response to the computing device entering a hibernation state, assigns a power source to a network interface card (NIC) of the network device via a power delivery controller, and assigns the NIC to receive Wake-On-Lan (WOL) support. The system can place the computing device to a threshold power state responsive to the NIC receiving WOL support.

  • Patent number: 8092415
Abstract: A catheter assembly for use in accessing a vasculature of a patient during renal replacement or other therapies is disclosed. In one embodiment, the catheter assembly includes a catheter body that defines first and second lumens. The catheter body defines a distal tip region that includes a venous lateral opening that is in fluid communication with the first lumen and includes a distal-facing portion. The distal tip region further includes an arterial lateral opening that is in fluid communication with the second lumen, includes a distal-facing portion, and is substantially un-staggered with respect to the venous lateral opening. A distal end opening is defined on the distal tip region and is sized to pass a fluid therethrough. In one embodiment, the distal end opening is in fluid communication with a third lumen of the catheter body that can withstand high fluid flow rates associated with power injection of contrast media.
